They help you improve your balance. You practice standing on the wobble boards. You have to develop really good balance to be able to hold a shot on them. Check out WSRPA - Washington State Rifle and Pistol Association. The web sight lists all the ranges and leagues available. There is a pretty rich shooting scene here and growing.

Feinwerkbau P70 sight question
Looking at a used P70. When shooting at 10 meters, the rear sight is all the way at the upper range of its vertical adjustment and it still shoots a hair low.
