Re: Other than a coach, best training tool for junior shoote
As a parent who has graduated one from college and have two in college, I have a three word mantra: "In state tuition". Don't rule out possibility of walk on to KY versus fractional tuition scholarship to out of state school. That's always been an option because she really likes UK (shot ...

Re: Other than a coach, best training tool for junior shoote
What University does she hope to compete at? Make an appointment and meet with that coach. Explain the circumstances and goals. See if she can get some range time with that team, on their range, with the coaches guidance. If unsure, perhaps Ohio State University would be a good place to start. They...

Other than a coach, best training tool for junior shooter?
Sorry for the length of post but background may help understand exactly where we are, goals and available options. My daughter is a high school senior shooting air and 3P and has a fair shot at shooting collegiately. However, she suffered a track injury last spring and underwent surgery in June on w...

Thanks
Hey guys, thanks for all the advice. My daughter's grandparents decided they didn't want her to shoot with a rifle that I was going to "just make it work" so she has a Walther Anatomic lightweight on the way. Well now I will have something to dabble in prone shooting with. I think I will j...

Need advice - New Stock for 1903 or modify?
I’m looking for advice and ideas regarding the Anschutz 1903 M64 in the picture. I am trying to determine if I can change out the butt plate to make this rifle more functional and legal. My daughter shoots this rifle in ISSF/USAS 3P and has done quite well given its limitations. When the butt plate ...

Desparately need Anschutz Model 1903 M64 firing pin
I posted this in Buy Sell Trade so I apologize for the duplication but I'm desperate. Looking for an older model 1903 M64 firing pin. Daughter's broke today and she is supposed to shoot at JOs in 2 weeks. The spare I had bought from Champion's Choice last fall does not fit. I don't know the exact mo...

Bolt question
Thanks for the lock info.
Joel,
You mention loosening the bolt. Should the bolt handle be pulled up or up and back? I understand not to remove the bolt because that may make the trigger vulnerable. We are traveling with only a small bore rifle and not a PCP rifle.

Flying with smallbore for JO's
Looking for any tips on flying with a smallbore rifle. Suggestions on TSA approved locks, packing ammunition, etc. We are flying Delta and the rifle will fly in a Pelican hard case. We are flying into Denver and out of Colorado Springs. I've read Delta's tips and requirements as well as those on the...

It appears the flag must extend beyond the muzzle and breech so a manufactures breech plug would not suffice. We require the same thing for 4-H and some junior shooting. A length of orange string trimmer string works nicely. Very visible on line by RO. Not only indicates the breech is empty but that...

Cleaning IZH 46-M out of the box - Izzy newbie
My daughter just got this from her grandparents to replace a club Daisy 747. Nice pistol. I searched previous posts and found the question but not a real good answer. When removing the factory preservative, how much disassembly is necessary? Removing the piston, removing the compression cylinder, an...

Update
Thanks for the insight.
She shot another 60 shot course tonight and scored a 530. 5 point improvement with no chance for practice since last week. Her qualifier is December 15 and she will be a J3 shooter.

525 in 1st 3x20 smallbore course, how does she stack up?
My 13 yr old daughter shot her first full 60 shot 3p smallbore course on a 50 ft range tonight and scored a 525 - P 182, S 160, K 174. Only second time in kneeling position. I'm very proud of her, but was really wondering how does this stack up? JO qualifier is in 4 weeks. Could she have a shot at m...
