Anschutz 1813 supermatch sear engagement vs bolt lugs
My 1813 with Madco barrel has a very tight close to the bolt which is largely caused by the firing pin spring. When closing the bolt, the sear engages when the bolt is pushed forward, and then is compressed further as the lugs slide into the slots. I shoot benchrest and find the force required to op...

It is more straight than oblong. I'm going to continue my interrogation today for more details. I agree with you that the cheekpiece could be an issue causing the shooter to not look through the sights correctly but the level of shooter make me think that it can't be that. Top level competitor. Cou...

I'm not sure if what the resolution of the scatt system is, however I do know that it uses a microphone to detect the point of fire, perhaps the sound of the firing pin, then the shot, then the shot leaving the barrel is causing confusion also as it may think it has detected multiple shots? The webs...

Several experienced shooters in my club lower the butt from the shoulder to load and I asked about the movement etc effecting shooting position. I was told two things: 1) Straining to reach the breach port will pull you out of position more than dropping the butt from the shoulder as you are physica...

Re: SK rimfire ammunition
I have local access to SK Standard Plus and SK Rifle Match .22 ammunition. Does anyone know if the Rifle Match is suitable for a standard pistol at 50 meters? Is it potentially more accurate in a pistol at 50 meters than Standard Plus? Thanks! JLK If Standard plus works in your pistol, the rifle ma...

I've seen coaching on scatt successfully diagnose a problem with shot timing and shallow breathing/muscling on a shooter, leading to a significant jump in performance. For me it found a problem with my trigger pull, adjusting blade forward removed the occasional swing out to the right that I had dev...

Just a question on the SCATT system and live fire: As a smallbore shooter, a 10m range is not a particularly useful range for live fire, however, as the scatt system operates much like a nintendo wii (camera on rifle, two IR LED's on the target plate, in theory the target does not have to be between...

Essentially there were two versions of the actio...

Re: trigger location
By moving the trigger to the rear, what are you accomplishing? Additional striker spring pressure, longer F.P. fall? Thank you, willy The firing pin is held further back, increases spring pressure and the amount of time that the spring has to accelerate the firing pin. The 18 series onward have a s...
