Re: Needing advice on Anschutz rifle models

ok, both models come with a 1914 stock just different barrels Not quite, the 1914 stock is scaled down a bit. It's about 7/8th the size of the 1913 stock. Both offer the same level of adjustments. The 1907 in 1914 stock and it's predecessor the 1912 rifle are designed for the Women's Sport Rifle cl...

Source for Anschutz buttplate nuts

Anyone know a source (U.S.) or replacement for the 4719s-3 buttplate nuts used on late 1413s and 1813s to secure the buttplate in the two grooves on the carrier for offset and cant adjustments. They don't have to be original, hardware store equivalents will work fine, but I'm not sure what their cal...

Re: Gehmann 590 rear sight to AR-15

mtncwru, good call. They're flat on top, not the rounded profile on an Anschutz receiver. Yes, flattop AR. Those Centra AR-15 Flattop Rear Sights look little too strange. I think one option is to modify some picatinny riser or QD-mount. Strange that there is something you can´t buy to AR. You could ...

Re: Gehmann 590 rear sight to AR-15

I would like to attach Gehmann 590 rear sight to AR-15. Is there any adapters to get it done? What is sight line height from rail top of that 590 sight? I had to look up what a 590 was. So we're talking about an adjustable rear sight designed for an 11mm dovetail. Are we talking about an AR-15 with...

Im new to the 50M Rifle Target Shooting and looking for the Glasses (Not the Sunglasses type) and pair of jacket and pants. But so far having no luck on finding the local store. Anyone know a good place? Thank you! Competition shooting is highly specialized so local stores for these things generall...

Re: Crosman Challenger 2009 Question.

Great question. I had seen some Challengers for sale new without sights for a $100 less. Toying with the idea of buying one for indoor practice or holding out for an MAR-177. Of course it would only save me money if my existing Annie sights from the 60s & 70s (6702s and 18mm globes) fit the Chal...

Re: action confusion

If the shooter is under 6' tall, there is a 1912 for sale on the US Rifle Team Long Range forum. Mark It's listed on here, as well as on NationalMatch.us The 1912 is Anschutz's first attempt at a Women's Sport Rifle, once the ISSF changed rules in 1997 no longer requiring women to shoot standard ri...

Re: UH OH!!!

There must be a dirty secret behind this shooting pants. Mine do this shrinking also, especially over the winter season. There must be a big conspiracy behind that. There can't be another serious reason. Regards Frank In NRA High Power, the jackets are known to shrink over the winter as well. The p...

Re: Shooting pants

Where in or close to Georgia, is there a place that sells shooting pants that has a store where I can take my son and he can actually try them on? Also is there a place anyone can recomend that does repair to shooting jackets and pants? Most of our highschool equipment is falling apart at the seams...

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

Allow me to close this out: On Sunday 12/14 Carl Erickson, Jr. helped me setup the 1613 rifle. I learned the basic adjustments and settings for the three positions and wrote them down. On Saturday, 12/20 I shot an unsanctioned NRA-style 80 shot prone match in Guthsville, PA. It was a lot of fun, tho...

Re: Rehabilitative Air Rifle/Pistol Program, need ideas

I just saw this appear in my Facebook feed yesterday (shared by USAS and AMU): http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/dec/16/nra-shooting-sports-shooting-to-heal-at-the-warrio/ No practical way to tap into JROTC/ROTC procurement programs since they fall under Cadet Command which is a part of Human...

Now that looks interesting. It talks about 3 discs, 4 discs, small discs, large discs, etc. Does it come with all of the discs to interchange or do you have to order more?

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

I bumped into John Scandale once in 2011. I've known John Sylvester since July 2010. We've shot quite a few matches together in 2010, early 2011, and early 2014 (I had a couple years out of the sport). Both are moderators on the high power forum (nationalmatch.us http://www.usrifleteams.com/forums/ ...

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

I grew up on Long Island, and learned to shoot as part of my H.S. Team, many moons ago. I know that the Roslyn Rifle Club and the Freeport Rifle Club both have active programs. Both have web sites. I think their is a club in Valley Streem too, they have produced many shooters but do not recall seei...

Re: Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

Thanks to both of you for suggestions. CT may be an option. I'll try to look into it. I'm checking out the Facebook group I recognize at least one HP shooter from NJ on there. My home range is owned by the state NRA association so lacks the local club feel. While smallbore and high power matches are...

Smallbore coaches near Northern New Jersey

Hello, I'm mostly a High Power Service Rifle shooter looking to add NRA Match Rifle to my game. In preparation for this, I planned to buy a "beater" Match 54 to put in a stock/chassis that was similar to my match rifle. I ended up with a beater 1411 (early 60s) and a 1978-vintage 1413 (X-b...

Re: Smallbore Sitting Poistion

You may also want to try using a palm block (as in standing) to get enough height without causing undue pain. Good point, as a Service Rifle shooter I didn't think about that. Definitely an option for smallbore, though. It may add to the inconsistency however, unless you incorporate a handstop or e...

Re: Smallbore Sitting Poistion

I'm not a smallbore shooter (yet!), but sitting is my best event in High Power so I'll comment. The reason we cross left over right is to raise the left elbow and arm up high enough for proper NPOA. If she's flexible enough to lean over and get a good NPOA without the height advantage, I wouldn't wo...

7/32-40 was common on US rear sight apertures. I know the Williams sights on my Savage Mk2-FVT are that size. The Kimber 82G was threaded for M9.5x1 but included a 7/32-40 bushing adapter that I use with a Merit disk.
