Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes

Let’s presume we all know the difference between WSP and Standard Pistol. I did share that a source said a “version” of… The important point is to spread the word.

Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes

If USA shooting recorded its last board meeting, listen to it to hear the plan for RFP in LA2028. Digging for information after that call, which only touched on the topic superficially, RFP will be eliminated but possibly replaced by a men’s version of sport, maybe using the standard pistol course o...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

I used the drop of oil tactic (Rem Oil, coincidentally) when my OEM Walther OSP barrels would erode enough to cause reliability problems. Unfortunately, that wasn’t very long, not even a half a year, and that was extremely annoying. They’d malfunction at that point using R25, but, for practice, woul...

Re: Walther GSP Trouble Shooting?

There are too many responses to read, so pardon me if I repeat some thoughts or suggestions. I believe I saw someone already suggest paying attention to the amount of oil and the viscosity of the oil used when cleaning. I agree with whoever suggested Rem Oil. That's a perfect oil for Walthers. I als...

Re: Hand Pain?

I'm not a doctor, but I gripped a gun a lot back in my day. Could this be carpel tunnel syndrome? See a doctor for the best and most accurate diagnosis. What's the cause? It could be the way the grip is formed and how you need to grip it. It could just be a repetitive motion injury. You are shooting...

And I said major events (e.g. Pan Am Games, World Championships, Olympics, etc.). USA Shooting will send teams to major events. It has and will probably continue to use discretion for world cups.

Wow! This discussion is a flashback to 20 years ago. Rest assured, USA Shooting sends teams to all major events. The merits and/or detriments of a performance standard score have been debated since their creation. Allowing unsupported "b" level shooters pay their own way... well, that's be...

It varies for each person, from one event to another, and depends on how the matches are scheduled. But if you're trying to determine an average, here's what I did for rapid fire: Physical training year round, 6 days a week. Actual shooting for 10 to 12 months per year (depending on match and tryout...

[/quote]Why did that happen?... Anybody been around long enough to explain it to me? A handful of organizations, maybe five or six, were grand father claused and...

I agree with those who say spend the money. I blew through not so inexpensive lenses because they were plastic and scratched easily or I wasn't satisfied with the quality. I eventually worked with my opthamologist to get the proper prescription to focus on the front sight, then found a optics place ...

It has been a long time since I had to travel from the U.S. to Europe with guns. I'm sure things have changed some, specifically under what conditions can you travel with airguns and firearms. If you figure out that you can, be sure to declare ownership of the guns you are taking out of country with...

If I recall correctly, I believe the argument for unlatching the cocking lever is related to prolonging the lifetime of the seal. The seal seats tight and storing those APs with the cocking lever latched keeps the seal compressed.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree. I just remember it that way.

They're great air pistols, even if they are from 30 years ago. I shot some fantastic scores with one myself. I understand there are some people that will even work on them to this day. $620 is high. Full retail price 30 years ago from Beeman, who had the reputation of having the highest prices, was ...

Since you're all talking about the SSP trigger, I have a question about it that is related to the original. Does this trigger have a long reset? That is, do you need to allow the trigger to travel forward significantly in order for it to reset properly? I seem to recall the really old Walther trigge...

I think the host of this forum sells a trap made by Gehmann and it's only $45. Not sure what shipping would be to Australia. There has got to be a supplier or distributor of Gehmann in Australia, though. Good luck.

When I used stock OEM barrels, malfunctions (casings getting stuck in the chamber) would start after a mere 25,000 shots through the barrel. I ended up having custom barrels made and I don't recall having any malfunctions afterword. A drop of oil helps, but my recommendatioin would be to look into a...
