We were told about it from the USAS office when we inquired about the rule for the NJOSC. The explanation provided was that Winter Airgun wasa selection match and it would be enforced as well as be enforced at NJOSC. I'm still scratching my head over enforcing a rule that hasn't been adopted, but th...

Get your round on
Not sure who is going to Winter Airgun in Colorado Springs in December, but I received a communication stating the rounded boot rule will be enforced. This is outside the active USAS rules, but because it is a selection event they have decided to enforce it at equipment check. So now you know and ca...

I would agree with Joel and Paul on their recommendations. While we shoot USAS, my son just picked up shooting with a local club (they shoot smallbore indoors through the winter) and they go through the NRA junior program. Just for comparison, most of the kids there are shooting 1903's or older 64 M...

State JO Rules Update 2013-2014
Received the following this weekend thought I would pass them along: 1. All scores must be reported in integer (whole number) form only. 2. The jacket seam rules will not be enforced (7.5.4.5) 3. The boot flexor rule will not be enforced (7.5.2.3) 4. The seat pad of the shooting pants will be enforc...

Thanks to Joel for steering this in the right direction. I suppose I am the minority crazy supportive volunteer, I've completed through the Level 3 Coach's program, done all the NRA certifications, coached youth in national competitions and been a state coach at National 4-H events as well. We start...

The quick answer is yes it's gone. While at Nebraska in June I was talking to a National 4-H committee member about the program because we use/used it. He make a quick remark that I better hurry up and buy all the medals because once their gone their gone. I know lots of programs that use Winchester...

FWB 700 junior air cylinder question
We were practicing tonight and I went to screw in the air cylinder and it was incredibly difficult to tighten. There were about 3 easy turns like normal and then it hit a wall. I thought maybe it was cross threaded but I can't imagine that with the FWB. Now it's a constant problem, I cleaned all the...

not right and not fair when directly comparing scores to shooters shooting on electronics during JO qualifiers. Just curious (not trying to be antagonistic), how so and not fair to whom? When a shooter on electronic targets breaks position to step away from the line they don't get additional sighte...

State 4-H
Our state is looking for ways to improve the speed and efficiency of the state shoot. We had something on the magnitude of 535 .22 youth this year and I'm not sure how many "total" entries, probably on the magnitude of 1250. What do you folks in large participation, and even small, states ...

I can already feel the trouble I'm going to get into here. I apologize if there was a misinterpretation, so perhaps you can provide more information, i.e. age, experience, level (scores?). Our juniors (13 and under) that we move up to precision (most shoot sporter for 1-3 years) we still have in ska...

Our entry level USAS youth wear skater shoes or chuck taylor converse, just because there are bigger issues going on and they are all growing. The CT really are as close as you can get to direct surface contact in a shoe. My son wore his CT for a year (we had to buy multiple sizes due to growing, an...

I dont think the thread started off as complaining, it took a bit of a turn, but the original subject is more curiosity. Personally I like the decimal system, so not really complaining there, it separates the people who shoot deep versus those who dont. The thought of how everything compares came ab...

I had a similar question if we get back a little more to USAS classifications and records. Looking at the rankings I noticed (for example) Mcphail was a 599/600 or .998 shooter in prone but now he's a 623/654 which has him at .952. Seems there will need to be some sort of classification adjustment. ...

Elite Scorer any followup?
I saw a few posts about this system but no follow ups. Has anyone state side received this system, tried it out, etc? I like the mac compatible software (SCATT should take a lesson on that...). Would just really like to know if it delivered on what was represented, or is just lipstick on a pig?
