Thanks as always! I'd agree with you on the regulator, I guess I didnt think that through logically. I'll ask him if hes gone through the tightening and maintenance and just make sure to double check, ,sometimes it the easiets little things you never think about!

FWB 800 Regulator Issue?

My dad was talking with another shooter and they have been having a tremendous issue with consistent shot patterns from their 800. Basically every 12-15th shot throws wide. Has anyone else had a similar issue or solved a similar problem? from what I understand he benched it and tested through it, so...

Thanks for all the great information, lots to think about! The 16.5 was the 40 shot group spread, the 10 shot average was 14.4mm (with the lowest being 11.4). So I feel comfortable with the ammunition quality and barrel pairing I think, or at least it seems to be in the competitive range? We use an ...

That was plan B, mostly because I wasnt sure what impact the weights may or may not have. The barrel is providing pretty consistent 16.5 mm spreads in 10 shot groups with the lot testing we did. So the area I know nothing about is barrel dynamics, so please excuse me in advance for this question: Ca...

Thanks - sorry crazy week or two so this is a bit late! I appreciate the comments, I oversimplified it and I should have known better! Most of you have seen Wills gun, but he is shooting what started out as a 1907, but his coach changed out his barrel for a shortened ss (we no longer have the 1907 b...

Lilja barrel recommendations

Just curious what recommendations good/bad people have had when ordering a custom barrel. We want to replace a 1907 with 54 match trigger and it sounds like we have to order custom and have a gunsmith fit it. Since we have to go custom there are a large range of options. What success in configuratio...

Hmm I'm sure Joel will have good commentary here. As a coach of youth from 8-18 my best response is when they are ready, meaning, not when mom and dad are ready but when the youth in your coaching opinion is ready. You have to pair the equipment to the youth so if mom and dad bought a new lg300 I wo...

Thanks - this is for a youth shooter who (IMHO) has come on quickly as a youth. I'm not sure if it was his 20/10 vision but I suspect it helped in the beginning stages. Now that he is getting older his eye sight is changing, but not horribly bad - but changing. So if you build a position with a cert...

Visual sight question

Ok since I know there are some visual sight specialist around, I have a peculiar question. If a shooter has 20/10 vision in their dominate eye and as they get older the sight changes to 20/15 then 20/20 does this have the same relative impact as a shooter with 20/20 going to 20/25 or 20/30? Would yo...

So while it would be nice to think this somehow endorses shooting, it does not. Nor more than the photo with the garden club endorses gardening. I have a picture of me with President Nixon, our group were Boy Scouts who's fathers were in the Marine Corps and it was part of a Washington DC tour. We ...

I don't know if Arvada or Greely do pistol, I suspect they are rifle focused. NTC juniors in Colorado Springs has pistol.

Another option would be 4-H, many counties Adams, Boulder etc have air pistol programs including precision level shooters not just entry level.

I'm in general agreement here, the one quirky thing I recently ran across was a town here in Colorado required our small youth air rifle club to get a permit to discharge within City limits. Mostly it was simple but their city code did not differentiate between firearms and air rifles..

Thanks - the elimination of the prone is really sad I know William was looking forwards to it. Interesting the RMRC was shot 49-60-40 this year without issue.

Whats your opinion on if prone will be scored in decimals or integer if they decide to do a 40-60-40? I think they can flop scores in and out of decimal as a whole, just not sure if they can do it when tied to other positions?

Pretty much a Ford, Chevy Dodge discussion. The preface to this is to try them all out, there are plus and minuses to all of them and nothing says it fits like actual trial. I helped with the rifle EQ check at the Winter Airgun in December and one thing I noticed (especially on tall lanky men) the r...

We use the 2300S and 2300T in our program along with Tau 7 Juniors. The custom shop is good, but if you want to go straight off the rack so to speak I would use their EASY program if you can and buy the kit. That usually saves quite a bit. I do have a hard time with the 2300 being a bit temperamenta...

Just looked at the "Official Program" and it also states that every rule will be enforced except 7.5.4.5 (side panel stitching). I'm notorious for not reading the program and should have caught up a month ago.

Anyhow, thats all I know.
