Re: Ball bearings at DNBBGCM?

Yes, spoke with Denise Johnson at Daisy last week. They are going to send samples of their ball bearings to the teams as they receive their entry to the Nationals and they will be available "soon", no date given. I also sent samples to them as well. I will not have to hand size bb's one at...

Re: Steyr air rifle

Our high school team, Tift County, Georgia, has 8 of the Steyr LG110 air rifles and they have been in use for 9 seasons with zero problems. We also have 2 Anschutz 8002's and our kids much prefer the Steyr's. While I'm a pistol shooter I've shot both and I agree with the kids as I prefer the Steyr a...

Try all 0000, that should work.

Re: Needed HS rifle team suits & boots. WTB

We've had good luck with the suits sold by Champion's Choice in Tennessee. Not the best there is but some of the suits have been in use for 7 years and have held up reasonable well. I'm also in Georgia, Tifton.

Re: Daisy 499B

Yes you can replace the front sight with any brand that will fit and it's allowed by the rules. The Lyman 17A inserts work well. Yes use the largest insert for new shooters then experiment with the smaller inserts as their hold improves. Everyone's eyesight is different and time spent working with t...

If you decide to make one to sale for an LP10 or for the Morini let me know. My 4-H kids have been very happy with the stick triggers we got from you.

If you decide to make these to sale let us know. I coach a 4-H air pistol team, we have 6 Steyr's and 4 Morini's and I know I'd like to try one.

Re: Junior Olympic Questions

When you register for the state qualifying match you'll include your email address. If you shoot a qualifying score, automatic or high enough to be invited, USA Shooting will send you an email telling you that you have been invited. Most years they have two invitations as not everyone accepts due to...

I keep reading posts about CO2 guns but keep in mind if you travel to events of any size NO ONE provides CO2 anymore. You don't want to fly with a 60 pound CO2 cylinder. You are also correct about the heat and humidty, our building here in South Georgia is not air conditioned and CO2 will not work. ...

499 Stock

No the wooden stock on current production guns is not hollow. The forearm is cutout from the factory so that you can ad lead. I use a drimmel and take more wood from the forearm so that I can ad additional lead to better balance the weight added to the stock. Keep in mind that if you're using the gu...

Air Cylinders

Spoke with Buck at Pilkington guns recently and THEY WILL NOT, I REPEAT WILL NOT repair any cylinders that are more than 10 years old. I just left the Progressive Air Pistol National Championship at Ft. Benning and this was to be the last year that cylinders more than 10 years old could be used at t...

Gamo Sights

Finally got the apertures in the mail to you yesterday, I sent four. I have 11 of the XS/40, T-200 Sporter air rifles with 4 having the Gamo Spanish made sights and the rest have the Chinese made copies. I prefer the Gamos but we've had good luck with the Chinese copies. If you buy them from Daisy a...

Daisy Sights

I got you PM, the apertures will be in the mail today. I did not know they were for Sporter Air Rifles. I would seriously consider upgrading to the Gamo style sight. The new ones are made in China and the quality is hit and miss but they are an improvement.

Daisy Sight

I will be glad to give you a diopter for the Dasiy sight at no charge. I coach a 4-H BB rifle team in Georgia and I have quite a few of the broken Dasiy sights. You can upgrade the sight as long as you don't modify the gun for it to fit. We are shooting at the Dasiy National's in Arkansas next month...

LP1/LP10

Pilkington will no longer repair any air gun cylinder that is 10 years old or older so my 4-H club will soon be replacing cylinders for Steyr's and Morini's. We have 9 guns and 18 cylinders that will all have to be replaced in the next few years, that's a major expense. I'm sure that the used airgun...

Standing

Hi Patrick, There's not a lot of maintaence really on the guns as far as prevenative stuff. We've had a lot of problems with the small trigger spring coming out but I now use jell super glue and glue the spring into the slot on the plastic trigger blade. I think I fixed guns for 5 counties at the st...

Daisy 499 repairs

I feel your pain as I was at the match at Rock Eagle as well, I coach the Tift County Team. Without seeing the guns, I think they both have the same problem, the plunger assembly which controls the speed of the gun. The plunger head is made of plastic and as it wears small chuncks of the plastic bre...
