Re: Canadian Airgun Grand Prix

It's in Ontario. Just West of Toronto. - No special rules for 10M air pistol (as long as it's under 495 fps) Check with the US customs before leaving leaving the states... in case you need to get any paperwork to prove the pistol was bought in the US. You don't want them charging import fees when yo...

Re: Air Pistol Electronic vs Mechanical trigger

Personally, I like mechanical triggers. Even though the 'electronic' might offer a gain in performance. My 2cents I've been working in IT for the last 20 years... Seems like all electronics have built in obsolescence. I don't mind replacing my 'obsolete' electronic devices every few years, they are ...

Re: Colt NM 38 Special

Do you reload? If you, you might want to try with some Federal brass... It didn't make my NM 38spl more accurate than the 52, but it sure did make it more reliable.

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

That's an interesting mount!

As far as the OP's initial comment about the 52 being 'unforgiven'... to me, it was a matter of rear sight. It was just too tight to my liking. Got 'spare' sight blade, a few minutes with a file... and all is well.

Re: LP50 question

One last thing, how does the LP50 compare to other high end PCP pistols that are not semi-auto, as far as quietness? Does the fact that it is re-cocking itself, add much noise as it shoots? Since I shoot inside my home, keeping a low noise level is important. While we haven't scientifically measure...

Re: Coaching In or Near Vermont for Air Pistol

I would even be willing to make the two hour drive to Montreal for coaching. Any ideas folks. Thanks. The Quebec Shooting Federation recently opened up a 10M shooting range in Montreal... Maybe you should give them a shout and see what kind of coaching they can offer. https://www.fqtir.qc.ca/salled...

Brian, If you're looking for an "interesting" pistol... the IZH34 would be a good start. But if you want to convert to 22lr... you're looking at a money pit. I had a look at this pistol a few weeks ago (at the Montreal show)... I thought it would be fun to plink with... but since I already...

Maybe Dennis Marschalko (dmarschal@yahoo.co.uk) might be able to help you... I've bought a few gips from him over the years, he's a good guy to deal with.

For what it's worth... the girlfriend had a similar problem a few years back. (was shooting an 'older' lot of Eley, and a split case blew the extractor to the never-neverland) Anyway, I sent a letter to IZH asking where I could obtain a spare extractor/plunger/spring... a few weeks (OK, 3 months) la...

I'm not sure if Dennis (marshal grips) makes one of the IZH46... But I can vouch for the quality of his work. I recently got him to make an extra-small grip for the girldriend's 208, and she's real happy with it.

I've been using one on and off for a few years, it's a nice (interesting) pistol, but I still prefer the M52 I've found that it works best with Federal brass. And oddly enough, I couldn't find a reliable (accurate) load using Dominion brass (which is my favorite for the M52)... I tried going up/down...

You might want to invest in some fresh powder... as powder ages, it burn rate changes... 30-40 year old left over are not exactly the best thing to use.

Just my 2 cents,

Mike.

Ed,

Thanks for the tip! I guess I have two reason to buy some... 1) To fit the GF's 208 and 2) To fit to the GSP (Seen one guy do it, just a matter of filing the mag catch notch on the back of the mag body).

I'll let you know how it turns out.
