OK, so the A1 stock is fixed but shorter in length. That might do the trick for me... I have an AR Service Rifle with a Bushmaster lower. I will try and get an A1 stock for it and then he can shoot these matches as well as using the match rifle for varmint and match level matches...

I didn't really want to get into a discussion of caliber. I know lots like the new 6.5 Creedmore but I am wanting to keep this simple so far. If we get into 1,000 yard shooting (don't even know of a range around here) that's different, of course. Here's a general question for the group: Can you shoo...

Thanks for those leads... I checked their web sites and called them both. Compass was great, receptionist got me to someone and he listened to what I want to do and will send me a quote later today with a few suggested options and a lead time of around 4 weeks. Very knowledgeable and understanding. ...

Help on ideas...? High Power AR

Hi, I want to buy my son an AR platform .223 that he can use for High Power NRA competition. It needs to have an adjustable hand stop rail and accept aperture sights like we use for small bore. He is 13 so an adjustable butt plate is necessary. I would also like to be able to put a scope on it for w...

Interesting... From my experience, I shoot better if I concentrate with one gun. I guess he can shoot anything well but I remember the old adage, 'beware of the guy with just one gun, he probably knows how to use it.'

For me, I could not spend $2K on a stock and then take the stock off his gun and idle it or try to sell. To me, it's more beneficial to sell the current gun as a whole - more buyers - and then buy him a 1913 in a Precise stock or something like that. He sounds big enough to shoot the full size guns....

Matt Emmon's Rifles

Hi, I was just reading a couple articles about Matt Emmons, the Olympic Shooter from NJ and U of A Fairbanks. There were two references I read to his rifles... one said that he had a rifle sabotaged with a screwdriver while it was in his locker and so he borrowed a rifle to win the gold in the 2004 ...

I have figured out how to take the wood grip off and in the back, there is a large screw head that when removed releases a spring and a piston that I removed from the back. But I cannot see a seal in there...? I have also looked into the CO2 chamber with a light and see a screw head down in there......

TAU 7 Leaks and needs new Seals

Hello, My son's TAU7 CO2 air pistol is leaking CO2 when charged. I need to replace the seals but I have been unable to figure out how to do this. Can anyone assist me with this? When charged, the gas leaks out through the barrel or if the loading gate is open, it leaks up from the chamber. Thanks - ...

Are you expecting it to be sold with both the +0.50 and +0.75 diopters? This makes it easier to decide which you need but adds to the cost and you end up having one lens go unused...?

Pat,

Can you walk me through your process for finding your NPA for each shot? Seems like it would take me a long time to do in a match.

thanks - pz

I've done some more research on this and also spent quite a bit of time (45 minutes?) on the phone with Neil Stepp - great guy. I have an eye doctor appointment made now for next week and expect I will be needing my first set of distance glasses... with bifocals because I've used reading glasses now...

Aging Eyes

After shooting lots of Bullseye 10-15 years ago, I hadn't shot a lot of pistol recently. Just started shooting an air pistol league with my son and weird, my eyes don't focus on the front sight so well anymore (47 year old eyes). The front sight is fuzzy sometimes. I have to blink hard to get a focu...

Alright, thanks... so it's really about avoiding the big changes. I don't really retest my NPA as I shoot through the bulls. I guess I should. At this point, I consider my NPA to be correct if I am on the paper or close to it. So, why are the bulls numbered the way they are? Top Left, then shoot the...

Shooting Order on AR-5/10 Target

Dumb question but I am curious... Is there a 'correct' order to shoot the bulls on an AR5/10 target? If there is a correct way, can you tell me why it's correct? As of now, I start with the center top bull (above the sighter bulls), then center bottom, then top left and work down and finally top rig...

I'm not sure why distance matters...? I guess time zone matters but they probably have some way to report quality problems electonically or maybe try the contact us route on their web site and see if they care enough to route your note to the right people...

CCI SV

I used to shoot a lot of Bullseye Pistol some years back. I had Fiocchi Super Match or something like that for my Hammerli 208S's to use in matches but when I was practicing I would use CCI SV. At that time I was shooting about 15,000 rounds a year. Never any trouble until one new case came along (t...
