Actually there were three 6399's. Some pretty good shooting up in PA!

Re: Optometrist in Southern Colorado
I go to Thomas Wilson, Pine Creek Vision Clinic (719-594-2020) in Colorado Springs every year when I come in to shoot. Best shooter-friendly eye doctor I've ever seen. Been going to Dr. Wilson for about 15 years now.

Re: Noise in the World Cup Finals
You are doing a serious disservice to your shooters if you keep it nice and quiet while they shoot. At the London Olympics, there was all kinds of noise at all times during the matches. Typically at the Olympics you have fans in the stands that don't know the proper etiquette and they make a racket....

Re: Turbo Action?
Many things wrong with the Jewel for this application: -Single stage. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I've done all my shooting with a two-stage trigger. -Fixed trigger shoe, way too far back in the action to be useful for a prone or position shooter. Tried it with a spacer glued ont...

Re: Turbo Action?
You'd be hard pressed to find a good trigger for one. They are made to accept Remington style triggers. While the BR guys seem to love their Jewel triggers, they are simply unacceptable for position or prone shooting. I tried getting a Jewel trigger to work on a 300m rifle and it simply wasn't up to...

Re: Sling suggestions..........
Sorry the rumors are untrue, I go commando... Anyway, my hold isn't bullet hole sized at 100yd either. I agree with Kevin that it is almost more important to have good execution and get your shot off cleanly. Unfortunately some of my endurance with my tight position has lapsed this summer with all t...

Re: Sling suggestions..........
Jenson makes them in two widths...one NRA style, and one that conforms to the 40mm ISSF width.

Re: Sling suggestions..........
Kevin, Like Dennis says, I bought my "replacement" sling from Creedmoor. Since it is leather, I rubbed in some baseball mitt oil daily for a week and hung some weight from it for a week. On my older one, I've had the buckle in the same hole for the last 15 years. No perceptible stretch at ...

Ok, doesn't fit your requirement of screw adjustable, and I don't know what you mean by 90* offset, but my Jenson self centering sling has lasted more than 20 years of nearly daily use. Best sling I've ever used. I've got a new one just in case this one gives up the ghost, but haven't used it yet. E...

I'd just like to put in a plug for Joe Hein's new business at http://www.eliteshootingsport.com. He will serve you well.

Your Walther dovetail schematic is great. First I've seen reference to the correct 70* dovetail angle. Everyone ASSUMES that it is 60* like all the others.... I haven't found that extending the sight radius changes your rear sight elevation enough to worry about. If you have a greatly different tube...

James, The freedom to keep our guns is what we're talking about. You gave yours back in 1996 or so. We've always been a little rebellious over here and value our independence highly. The reason we have the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep our arms resulted directly from having to kick the B...

I've use the 25x Leupold FX-3 scope they sell for silhouette. I had a 1/10min target dot reticle put in by the Leupold custom shop. I like the light-weight and simplicity of a fixed power scope. I do think that 25x is probably too high a magnification for prone. Unfortunately there really isn't any ...

Scatt ~$1400, Case of Tenex ~$1800. Good economics. Please excuse my ignorance, but how is training the other four fingers not to move with the trigger finger easier with bullets and no trainer. Seems method independent. It would be easy enough to see trace movement on the Scatt if you were moving a...

What kind of Iris? I use Centra and they are actually pretty easy to take apart and clean. I do it at least once a year to clean off all the gunk that seems to collect on the filters. Once apart I just use those microfiber lens cleaning cloths. Takes about 10 minutes and the use of a pin to push the...

I beg to differ on many of the points being made here. I guess I'm always the contrarian. First of all I believe you can train almost exclusively on a SCATT or Rika and probably be better off than if you shot only live bullets. Second, I almost never look at the charts or stats. It was ONLY the pret...
