Not a problem, this walnut was not particularly dense, so weight tops out at a little over 9 lbs, or about 4.1 kg; should be under 4 kg after the trimming.

In response to Andre's question about how it shoots with the new stock: it is as accurate now as its was originally. I have done some benchrest testing, and can shoot repeatable 100 pt. targets. I worried about this too, using a non-laminated stock which can warp, especially if not completely dry in...

Yeah, I know it looks a bit hefty, but in Senior Olympics, you don't shoot prone or kneeling. Do not know of any traditional position shooting here in Southern New Mexico, but there are a set of ageing seniors doing both rifle and pistol shooting. I decided to keep as much of the wood as I could, wh...

New FWB 700 Stock

Thought I would share with you my experience making a new stock for a FWB 700 Basic air rifle, as I am a long time woodworker, and appreciate a nice gunstock. Since I couldn't convince a local shooter to sell me his curly walnut Anschutz, I decided to make my own. I have new access to a full CNC sho...

Thanks for pointing this out, it is exactly what I hoped to discover. I agree with the discussion that the original M12 stock is awfully hard to make look good, even with walnut caps, etc.

Thanks again. DRB

Restock of H&R M12 target rifle

I have an M12 that I am considering restocking. I have reworked the original stock to get rid of the sway-back and generally sharpen up its lines, but have started to think about a new stock. I am wondering if the bedding for the M12 is anywhere close to that of a Win 52, as it would simplify the ta...

Regarding the pellet deflection of a 45 deg plate: my experience is that the pellets deform so much on impact that they do not "reflect" straight down from the plate, but slide along its surface and impact at the bottom of the plate. I built one like this, imitating a 22 lr trap, and had a...

For those of you interested in experimenting with different eyeglass corrections, like adding +0.50 diopters to your shooting eye correction, in order to move your infinite focal point to the front sight, check out this web page: www.zennioptical.com where you can get a pair of glasses for as little...

I use a FWB700 and load left handed standing, and right handed prone, and have found the vertical action of the FWB allows both without switching the cocking lever from side to side. Not sure that would work with the lateral cocking guns.

We've had the FWB601 for several weeks now, and while we have been focused on Senior Olympics, we did do some shooting with it. It is certainly heavier than the MP-532, even without the muzzle weights, but the stock and sights are much superior, the MP-532 does not have an adjustable cheekpiece. Wit...

I had double cataracts blow-up 2 years ago from taking a statin drug for 3 days, and ended up getting surgery for both eyes. Had just started shooting again since Jr. High, I'm now 65, and while I don't have a lot to compare with immediately before and after, I have won both the local and state Seni...

Just had this problem last week: friend got a FWB601 with that in the front sight, same issue with the orientation. Champions Choice has the spanner you need for $3.

Its accuracy was about the same as the 46M pistol, no surprise, so it was acceptable for standing, at least at my level. My shooting friend has just bought a FWB 601, awaiting delivery, for less than the new price of a 532, which given the better sights, better and more adjustable stock, and better ...

IZH MP-532

I had one, from the first importing some years ago, and found it an interesting gun. My only issue with it was the rear sight, it is just not up to the quality of other SSPs for example. It is very similar to the sight on the 46M pistol, but has limited adjustment. Mine also had the stock split at t...
