Re: Anschutz Sight Riser

Shooterer wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 2:50 pm If my math (and AutoCAD) is correct, if you have a 26" sight radius and you add an 8mm riser to only the rear sight, you would be low by 22 3/8" at 50 meters from your original zero.
Shouldn't that be high? Raising only the rearsight raises the POI.

Re: Anschutz Sight Riser

Patcher, Did you put a raiser under the foresight too? If you didn't, your problem is likely trying (and failing?) to click the rearsight down 8mm. When you want to raise your head (and the sightline) you need a pair of raisers. You'd need a raiser under the rearsight only if you were running out of...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

Caveat that I'm an appalling standing shooter, but if by "manipulating my hold", you mean pushing/pulling the rifle onto the target, this has always made things worse for me. It makes me think that 1) Your natural point of aim is not properly set on the target, and 2) Your position is unst...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

Thank all of you for your valuable insight and advice. I will be moving my scope back out on the barrel. Quick question, I’ve been told by some of my teammates to try to change out my Redfield for a Leupold 24x fixed efr (not quite sure the exact model) with target dot crosshair. I’ve looked online...

Re: Rifle the limiting factor?

Hi, Yes, it's possible your current rifle could be limiting your performance. 0.22LR barrels shoot well for a really long time, but don't last forever. If it's seen sustained use over the past 50+ years, your barrel could well be past its best now, or at least on borrowed time. However, it's shootin...

Re: Monocle or Monoframe?

Hamster, Several friends have the Anschutz Monoframe, and have no complaints. Looking at the MEC monocle, if you were using a low-profile rearsight and iris (e.g. a Centra Spy + Tiny), the Monocle would offer a wider view down-range than the Monoframe. With a bulkier resrsight and/or a full size eye...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

It's a 3200. The 6400 is noticeably shorter, and was designed to be mounted to the receiver. I'd add that target 'scopes were originally barrel mounted, because a looooong tube was the only way to get high magnification at the time. I had assumed from the 'scope mounting that you were shooting from ...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

I have a theory about the “A” above the serial number… I wonder if it could be a designation by Anschutz for rifles destined for high school or jrotc shooting programs? Possibly, but why would Anschutz have to mark these specially? Did Anschutz, or the US importer, offer a discount that required ad...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

The butt = forearm method is an old one, but not one I like. For prone/sling shooters there are way more factors than just the forearm. Personally, I like to adjust the butt length so my hand reaches the grip comfortably and easily, my shoulder is relaxed, and my wrist is as straight as possible*. W...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

Yes, that's a 1613. I think the triggerguard has been replaced, and almost certainly the bedding bolts too; the original would have been smaller with slot-headed countersunk bolts. I'm guessing this has hex-head bolts, most likely with belville washers under the heads. I have to say I've never seen ...

Re: WTB: RH precision stock for Anschutz Match 54

Randall, Thank you. I wonder how the original German test reads? In English "must be replaced" can only mean that replacement is non-optional. This is plainly nonsense. Did the original read that the trigger "should" be replaced to retain the facility of applying the safety or is...

Re: WTB: RH precision stock for Anschutz Match 54

Nickster, I see what you mean, but that's not what you wrote. That aside, yes 1807s are fairly light as the fore-end is extensively hollowed out. However, if the OP has a 1972 1407 is an 1807 worth the upgrade? An 1807 offers some improvements over, but these aren't huge, and maybe not worth the cos...

Re: WTB: RH precision stock for Anschutz Match 54

Some barrels on the Mod 54s are lighter than others, so she may not be able to handle it no matter what stock you get. If she can, then I would suggest a 1807 stock.... They are the typical 3P stocks that Anschutz made for decades. Yes and no. Anschutz have made Match 54s with lighter barrels from ...

I'm nobody's expert, and it's been a very long time since I shot 3P. But, I'm in a similar position as you are...just a step ahead. I, too, have a '72 Match 54 (1413) that I wanted to try in a more modern stock. After far too many contradictory answers about currently available stocks that might or...

Re: WTB: RH precision stock for Anschutz Match 54

I'd add that there is a 1907 stock, several patterns actually. Anschutz confused matters somewhat by marking all 26in/66cm barrels as "Mod. 1907" regardless of what stock it was shipped with. Back on topic, what's the intended use: 3-P or just Prone? The 1907 is a basic 3-P design, and whi...

Re: Cheek rest.

I think the OP was asking about the shape of the cheekpiece where his face touches, square like an Anschutz Precise or rounded like an Anschutz 1811, rather than the construction. Personally I don't like rounded cheekpieces. My face is wide and my cheekbones are small. My head slides about on a roun...

Re: Picatinny rail for KK500?

To Tim S: Most Bench Rest 50 and F-Class Rimfire shooters uses this KK500, that is why scope is needed. Carlos, I'm a Prone shooter, but I don't live under a rock. Globally, how many KK500 shooters use a 'scope vs aperture sights? F-Class rimfire and RFBR are still fairly new disciplines, at least ...

I wonder why Walther sells thousands of KK and, in the world, there is no simple rail adapter to Picatinney.

Carlos
I suspect the answer is simple: that most KK500 buyers use aperture sights rather than a 'scope.
