Which Red Dots Lately?
Back about 6-7 years ago I switched my bullseye pistols to red dots, namely the Millett Multi-dots. About $70 each at the time and they have variable dot sizes. Now it seems that type of red dot has been discontinued except for the Ultra Dots that are couple hundred dollars. What red dots are people...

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
Sorry if my post caused some discomfort. I did a search but the discussions were back in 2017 & 2016 and didn't mention much about the ISSF World Cup events which still had the 50m prone throughout 2017. Now it's here. 2018 and the ISSF events don't have 50m prone. It used to be fun to watch, so...

ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
What a disappointment!! Looked at the ISSF schedule for 2018 and didn't find any 50M prone. I did hear they wanted to drop it since is was for men, not women. Guess the logical thing to do is then drop it instead of having both a womens & mens 50M prone. Found an article that mentions for the 20...

Re: ISSF World Cup Videos - No Mens 3p
Hello, Watched the ISSF World Cup Finals and they were great. Still haven't seen the Youtube video of the Mens 3P finals. Did they forget to post them? They posted the Womens 3p from the same day, Sunday. Thanks You can probably watch it on the ISSF Livestream though the quality isn't quite as good...

ISSF World Cup - Clapping Again
While watching the ISSF World Cup Finals this weekend, the commentators brought up many of the competitors don't like the clapping at the end of the match. This has been discussed many times here. Yes, the competitors have to practice for it but what other Olympic sport allows it? For the final poin...

Re: ISSF World Cup Brazil - Where's the Men's 3P Video
Just looked at the ISSF website for Livestream & Youtube and don't see Mens 3P Final. There's Women's 3P & Mens 50m Prone.

ISSF World Cup Brazil - Where's the Men's 3P Video
They posted all the videos from the recent ISSF World Cup to Youtube and Livestream except for the Men's 3P where USA's Matt Emmons took Silver. I didn't get to watch it while it was live (if they broadcasted it) but read the results. Anyone know if they plan to post it or maybe they didn't have the...

Re: ISSF & Prone
It's in section 9.1. Can't select it to paste it but it concludes since prone is dependant on the quality of equipment vs skill of the shooter, it could be eliminated since prone is already in 3p. If that's the case, why then don't they just eliminate it in 3p as well. Are they also trying to say Ol...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Here's a pic of an earlier 1813 that originally had the creasant buttplate with a newer 4760 butt plate. You can see how it doesn't match but does work ok. This buttplate wasn't original to the rifle or stock. Anschutz may now sell the Retro buttplate but you need the spacer/mount to attach to an ea...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
There's codes on the barrel to tell what year it is, if it's the original barreled action to the stock. 0=A; 1=B; 2=C; 3=D, 4=E; 5=F; 6=G; 7=H; 8=I/J; 9=K so ID would be 83. The 82 super match had the old crescent type butt plate. Don't know when the 4760 started. Also note if the aluminum spacer of...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Late 1813 and early 1913 rifles and stocks are nearly impossible to find. I have searches set on the major gun auction sites for 5 years now and have only seen a couple in that time. The early 1913's have that hinge to flip up the cheek. I have yet to see one of those for sale, stock or entire rifle...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Just in case anyone is looking for that Retro Anschutz Buttplate, Champions Choice has them. Quite pricey, almost $400. Not exactly the same as the original. The new one only appears to have 2 adjustment screws while the original has quite a few. http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDeta...

Re: ISSF World Cup Prone - Clapping during Final Shots
What will it take to make a change here? I'm such a cynic that I can only see things like this changing when it begins to cost the venues too much money to continue and they (not the athletes & coaches) push back onto the ISSF. Here's the ISSF's email. Maybe if they hear enough from people how ...

Re: cleaning
My barrel is still pretty good. While "seasoned" it shoots incredible. Didn't say it shot bad after a cleaning, just not the best it will shoot. It's from '83. I've never cleaned it so much so the lead ring was gone. Yes I've scoped it and the throat is very good. That's how I saw the ring...

Re: cleaning
Very interesting. When I got my Anschutz a few years ago it was general consensus not to clean the barrel once seasoned and using a certain brand of ammo until accuracy started to fall. This was a lot of rounds. If changing ammo, a cleaning was required. Also, there's a ring of lead at the end of th...

Re: ISSF World Cup Prone - Clapping during Final Shots
I checked the 2012 Olympics and they didn't allow the rude clapping disruption. Also checked the 2013 ISSF videos I have and it wasn't there but the 2014 ISSF events did. Wonder if the 2016 Olympics will allow it? Maybe they should bring this to the golf and bowling tournaments and see how well it's...

ISSF World Cup Prone - Clapping during Final Shots
Hello, Been watching the ISSF World Cup prone matches on Youtube for quite awhile. The past Munich Finals this week was incredible. Near the end of every match the spectators begin clapping. At this match it seemed that clapping disrupted McPhail's shot and put him behind. Then the Russian maybe als...
