Both those rifles are Ishmash 7-2's, the first with open sights. Neither of these rifles are race ready. You need diopter sights with snow covers and lots of other goodies The price is way too steep. I bought mine for $275.00 out the door. You can find them for sale from $400-650 on the internet. Th...

You might want to try a Bomar rib with an extended sight and accuracy tuner. It gives you a 7" sighting plane. Bomar is out of business but they can sometimes be found on the internet. While you are at it, check out a Kensight. Hope this helps

Mike, The Biathlon Basic is a heavier barrel than the 7-3 or 7-4. Check your muzzle. Mine mics .750 at the end. My son has not competed in a couple of years. He is on the Burlington cross country ski club and is skiing really well this year. He is going to do the lopet next week at the Birkie. He sh...

Ibleic, The 7.2 or Biathlon Basic has a different heavier barrel and different trigger group. The barrel mikes .750 at the muzzle so I put a collar and 8" bloop tube on my sons rifle. Bloop tube is drilled and tapped for a sight mount. I put a sight mount with 2 different heights. Easier for ge...

Weihrauch Hw 660 M

I just saw one of these for sale the other day. Could anyone tell me the difference between the Weihrauch and an Anschutz. The Weihrauch looks like a 1907 Anschutz stock with a 62 Anschutz action. The one I saw listed sold for $700.00 in 99% shape. Just wondering if this is a good Junior gun, or how...

I wouldn't touch that barrel with a ten foot pole. It looks like someone has changed the feed ramp angle and done a poor job of polishing it up. That angle is there for a reason. The bullets are stripped from the magazine and bounce against the angled feed ramp, bounce up and are shoved into the cha...

Buy a Biathlon Basic. Chop the butt 2-3". I added a bloop tube and front sight. The barrel at the front is .750. Weaver rail rear sight. Rail comes with gun, Duct tape foam on the front of the stock for a cheek rest. My BB shot 1/4" at 50 yds and a little more with Eley Club. This is a str...

I was told that some of the sardine ammo cans were filled with nitrogen to protect it from oxidation. I thought that was a neat idea. I actually never got a hold of it, so I have to trust the source. If anybody knows better please tell me.

Tim, it all depends on your Junior. My son was a lightweight at 110 lbs and he was shooting a Model 52, that was lightened but still weighed 12.5 lbs. His standing scores were abysmal. I bought him a Feinwerkbau 700 that weighed 9 lbs and his standing scores took off. So I bought him a Walther UIT t...

It's the 3" barrel. Get a longer barrel and the standard deviations will go down. Even fast burning powder like N-310 will throw unburned powder out the front, therefore the deviation. Test is to get a plastic sheet spread out in front of the barrel, and when all the firing is done, gather the ...

A dab of silicone seal in a deprimed case should clear your head about dryfiring a 1911. When I went to SAFS in 91, Bill Blankenship stood right up and said he had dry fired at least 1/2 million times on his 1911's with no ill effect. That being said, clear your head and use the silicon.

First of all, I love the Bristol range. I shot the pistol regional there for many years. It is a pretty range and the people who run the matches are wonderful It is not Perry by any stretch of the imagination. My kid may shoot this match, or he might switch over to the dark side to shoot the AR matc...

Dave, the spike works very well when there is 10" of snow, but you need the legs if you are practicing rifle cause there is no snow. Just ask us Wisconsinites the last two years. You only want 2 legs on your stand so you can shoot and look without moving your skis. Phillip, I have a cheap Bushn...

Brian, 50 yards is a no brainer in Biathlon. You don't need anything more than a Bushnell or a comparable cheap scope. What you do need is a scope stand with a single pole and a spike for anchoring it in the snow. Tripods are too wide and are often bumped by their skis during sight in, causing you t...

Air rifle shooting and good coaching will help a ton. It will teach you sight alignment, trigger control and follow through. Air rifles are real sticklers for follow through. The pellet's barrel time is long, and what you do after the breaking of the trigger will effect shot placement enormously. In...

It is a 49 minute visual training tool. Whether it is world Cup, Championships or Olympics is sort of insign...
