If you don't let the first cylinder go down so low that the POI is changing, it should not. I can change the cylinder on my CPM-1 any time w/o affecting POI. Wait, you said with the NEW cylinder it is shooting LOW ??? Mark the cylinders. Shoot with cylinder A, then B Then change the order, B then A ...

Scouts is a good idea. I remember MANY years ago when I wanted my marksmanship merit badge, it was VERY hard to find someone and a place to shoot. The only time and place was the annual summer camp. And if you did not make it (I didn't) you had to wait another year to try again, w/o practice in betw...

I used plastic wood, but that takes a LONG time to fully cure. And it stinks of solvent as it cures, so I had to leave it in the garage. I had my AP done by a guy from Arizona (Seaton Thomas) when he came to the SF Bay Area. He used a 2 part putty-like epoxy that you can get at most any hardware sto...

The other factor that I have been told is temperature. Wood is more comfortable to handle in extreme temperatures where metal would be COLD or HOT. Luckily the primary contact points of an AL stock are wood. Will this be a factor? Only if you shoot where it is COLD or HOT. BTW I shot one day where i...

I have to agree completely with Nicole. I started shooting 10m AR, self-taught...bad idea. I was shooting so BAD I was ready to quit. How bad was it? I was struggling to keep my shots inside the 1 ring. And there were more than a few targets with less holes than I shot. :-( Out of complete DESPIRATI...

You could also have examples of a shooters first target and their current target. This reminds them of how far they have come, and when looking at others how much others have improved. I used to tell people that when I first shot AR, I was struggling to just keep all my shots inside the 1-ring. That...

I shoot mine canted. As was mentioned, the key is to cant it by the SAME AMOUNT EACH TIME. Easier said than done, since you are not supposed to use a level on the front sight. But if you use a front sight insert with a cross bar, you can use the cross bar as a reference and try to hold it at a consi...

Richard What many people including me did not know is Hawaii does not have that high a humidity. I grew up there and when I first started working we used to complain about the humidity. The partner in the office told us it was nothing compared to where he grew up in the South. Right now the weather ...

For electric powered drives, you will need to rig a limit switch at the end, or the carrier will crash into the end stop. I thought about a low voltage motor, but decided that with a hand pulley I slow down cranking when I'm near the end, and I can feel when the carrier has reached the stop bolt at ...

If you are handy with home tools and hardware, go to a good hardware store and roam around. You might be able to cobble up something. The hard part is the pully. I used a clothesline pully, but the problem with that is...no handle, so I have to pull the cord. If you don't use a track system, you nee...

I had that problem with my FWB300. What happened is the rods/rails that the sledge slides on had dried out. The lube had dried out either by evaporation or dust had absorbed the liquid lube leaving a dry surface. With a dry rail the sledge could not slide. Remove the action from the stock/grip and l...

depends how much vertical space you have. If you have enough vertical space, I recommend the one Pilkington sells. If you don't, like me, then you have to build one. I shoot in my crawl space, and at the 10m mark I am literally crawling in the dirt. I had to build a track and pully system. Not elega...
