Just looked at the Walther, Germany website and the FP500 is no longer listed. But then again, why should it be. The ISSF, in its tortured wisdom, have seen fit to consign Free Pistol (50m Pistol) to the history books. No money in making them anymore. Bastards.

Re: Identify Russian Rapid Fire Pistol
This is a MTsU-U, a Margolin in .22 Short reworked by sport pistol armourers in Suhl, in Eastern Germany back in the day for the Olympic Rapid Fire event. This modified Margolin was used by the Polish RF shooter, Jozef Zapedski to win gold medals in the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. He narrowly lost a thi...

Good on you Skellocks. A family that shoots together, stays together. Why is your wife not involved too?

Re: Update my Toz-35 or buy a FP60 ?
I prefer my (Hammerli/Walther) FP60 to my TOZ35M. But that's just a preference. I also have a Steyr Match FP which, although technically interesting has become a safe queen. All three out shoot me. But I still prefer my FP60. I expect it is mechanically very similar to the Walther FP500 so spares sh...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules
Note the number of 9mm and similar used at World Cup competitions. NONE!! Note the number of centre fire cartridges used in World Cups... NONE!! Centre fire has never been in World Cups so your statement is useless!! Interestingly, back in 2012, our old friend conradin posted a list of Free Pistols...

Re: special spectacles for airpistol shooters
One problem was with the fit of the lense against the iris holder. The thickness of the lense did not allow the iris to slide down over the center without levering the lense out. It is customary to fit the iris onto the inside of the shooting lens, i.e. between the eye and lens. Most lenses are con...

Re: Pardini SP1 operation help
Going by the crud around the rear sight adjustment screws, I'd say the gun could do with a thorough clean and some TLC. WRT to your queries, I have no other knowledge of the electronic version. Surprised it’s still working given how other electronic trigger circuit boards seem to fail.

And to avoid embarrassment, the athletes were all given a dose of bromide. When the daughter of one of the Greek senators saw them she cried “Oh, limp pricks”. Over time, this morphed into the name we know today.PirateJohn wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:14 pm The Olympics were also competed naked, if you're really going for originalism, here.

Re: Lee Factory Crimp Die with .32SWL Wadcutters
Dave, No, I’m resizing using the Lee FCD in station 1 to .3345” (near as I can measure it with a digital caliper). Vindicator swagged bullets from: https://www.texgunsupplies.com.au/. Not sure how up to date the website is. If you can get you friend to PM me with contact details I can chuck 100 in a...

Re: Lee Factory Crimp Die with .32SWL Wadcutters
Hi Dave and David, I have now reconfigured my 550 press based on Dave Wilson's advice. Manually deprimed, fired cases outside resized using the Lee Factory Crimp Die to 0.3345 in stn 1 (0.3300 with the Dillon resize, decapping die) Case mouth flared and case charged with the Dillon short powder funn...

Many thanks Dave. Very comprehensive and valuable advice as usual.
When you say use the original Dillon powder funnel, do you mean the short one just to flare the case mouth?

Lee Factory Crimp Die with .32SWL Wadcutters
I reload the .32SWL for ISSF CF on a Dillon RL550B press. I use Bullseye powder in Starline cases with Federal SP primers and locally produced .314 LHBWC (Vindicator). My press has a PhotoEscape/Uniquetek .314” powder funnel at station 2. Everything else die-wise is standard. My rounds are not the m...

This link is the best explanation of why you must concentrate on your trigger. It is based on practical pistol but is relevant to all pistol disciplines. It’s only 5 and a bit minutes so bear with it.

Re: FYI: Problems with Recent CCI Ammunition
We've had a problem with the heavy beeswax lube on CCI SV rounds. My mate takes his out of the box, suspends them above a kitchen towel and puts them out in the sun under a glass bowl. This provides enough heat to remove the excess. He shoots Free pistol so doesn’t have any of the other semi-auto p...

Re: Laser Targeting Systems
I'd have thought that the danger with laser systems is that you end up looking through the sights and at the target to see where you “hit” rather than focusing on the front sight to confirm that your triggering and hold are good. I think a better, albeit more expensive, system would be electronic, e...

I use a cheap engraving tool from our local hardware superstore. Has a variable speed of vibration. Doesn’t chip the quickwood.
