Re: Feinwerkbau P8X review: how to improve it?

The P8X trigger shoe is a bit short and the ends dug into my finger pad (another distraction) so it was replaced with a metal Walther GSP trigger shoe which has a longer face. This is a bit belated but jbshooter, where did you get the Walther metal trigger shoe from? I cannot find any reference in ...

Re: Cheap pellets

If you buy a case from Neal Stepp, you can get basics for $6.35 per 500 tin. Meisterkugeln are $8.35 per tin. That includes shipping. RWS Meisterkugeln US$13-$16 (AU$18-$22) and Hobby US$7 (AU$10) per tin of 500 around here and that's store pickup. Marginally cheaper for a sleeve. In Oz, airgun pel...

Re: Toz-35 bench test

Just to throw another WTF into the equation: With both my S&W 41 and TOZ 35 (Ransom Rest testing), accuracy improved after minimal fire-lapping. Hi Rover, WRT your WTF, is it possible that all the “minimal” fire-lapping did was to clean out the barrel? What compound did you use on the rounds fo...

Re: ISSF New Competition Formats

It is really saddening to see how the shooting events are being reduced to TV spectacles at the expense of the shooters themselves. The reality is that the only people really interested in watching say a RF final are fellow shooters. There is no way that non shooters are ever going to “stumble upon”...

Re: Pardini conversion kit or two separate guns?

Thank you for all of your replies. I'm leaning toward buying a second gun - even though there seems to be some advantages to using a conversion kit as well. The beauty of interchangeable uppers is the retention of the grip and trigger, both of which will have been modified and/or adjusted to suit t...

Re: Question about Rink grips

Thomas is very good about replacing a grip that is the wrong size provided it hasn’t been messed with. Only costs you the return shipping - he covers the re-shipping. I’ve got 3 of his grips with a fourth for my GSP just clearing Oz customs as I write. I have found that the “thick” grip works well f...

Good scrub with nail brush and Sard soap, quick rinse, towel dry, air dry and re-oil as per David M's post.

Re: Aiming Too Much

I too use B Lafferty’s additional belt for the non-shooting hand. Adds consistency and you don’t have to fumble with jackets and t-shirts getting your hand into your pocket. WRT the shooting, I’ve heard it said that some elite shooters actually never stop the pistol in the aiming area but release th...

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?

Gwhite, I’m of a similar age to you. I bought and tried the two Tec-HRO trigger blades shown below on my FWB P44 a few years back (https://tec-hro.de/schiesssport/en/search?controller=search&s=Trigger+blade). I could not get on with the “touch-point” trigger (lower picture) - it was too much of ...

Re: Extending target life.

The nice thing is, you still get clean holes, albeit the scoring rings get obliterated pretty quick. Obliterating the scoring rings is no bad thing in practice/training. With no scoring rings you can focus more on group size and where the group centre is. Only need to score in a match when you’d mo...

Very nice case gunsmoke. I agree with you about the crappy factory case the pistol originally comes with. Been looking for a Pelican alternative but your solution has given me pause for thought. Thanks.

Re: New Pardini Rapidfire problem

I had the i problem with ejecting an unfired round this weekend shooting Rapid Fire at our club - twice. The unfired round was a dud CCI SV which I seem to be getting a few of in my current batch of ammunition - rotate and reinsert the round and it fires so must be a holiday in the priming compound....

I think that some shooters sail very close to the wind but I guess EC and the judges must pass them.

Re: RWS Hyper Match pellets .177 5gr tin pellets

The UK government is considering banning lead ammunition and is in the throes of preparing legislation. There is considerable pushback from UK air and rimfire shooters. The governing organisations have carried out testing with LFA (lead free ammunition). The results are not pretty. The suggestion is...

Re: Some Exotic Developments of the Margolin Pistol

We, Tony and I, had asked Spencer to put up the article on the Zapedzki Margolin in the hopes that people “out there” might have more information on these Rapid Fire pistols and their development.

If any one does, please post here or PM me.

Thanks in advance,

Almost 1/3 of the price of Corami.

Look exactly like rebranded weight-lifting shoes complete with the strap over the instep.

Re: Corami V Sauer

While everyone is talking about flat soles, my understanding have been that weight-lifting shoes are recommended because they have some height in the heel which help you stand a bit on the toes. Soft cushion is definitely no good but I am also not stable enough when my weight sinks on my heels. Abs...

Re: Trigger position

I find the Lyman gauge tricky to use but cobbled together a weight set for my ISSF shooting. I have a plastic pot which, plus lid and hanger, has enough lead bullets and pellets in it to give me 500gm. I also have a further plastic bag of bullets/pellets weighing 500gm which fits inside the pot with...
