I went and measured the diagonal in the garage -- I still can't get 10m. I can come closer in the house, but without any structural work, I only get 30 feet.

Thanks for the info. I have already checked out your site, and downloaded the reduction software. Could you explain the theory behind your statment that your scores would actually go up, when you switched to the regulation distance? Thanks again ---- Jim

Short range practice

So, I have decided to get involved in 10m AP shooting. Until today, I never measured my garage. I knew it was long enough for the cars, and had an office on the end besides. Now I find out, I only have 26 feet. If I use the dining room, family room, and hall, I can get just about 30 feet with no str...

Thanks for getting back to me. You may not be an expert, but you definitely know more than I do, and you really have a knack for being able to explain things well. The idea of keeping all the forces you are applying to the pistol in the same direction makes a lot of sense.

Thanks again --- Jim

You also might want to check and see how the warrantee works. I don't know how it is with air pistols, but with cameras, if you don't buy them from the local US distributor, you can't get work at the US service centers.

Thanks for you comment David. I guess you are probably right, the numbers don't really matter. I have just seen so many posts quoting exact figures, that I thought it was common practice.

Thanks Mark for all the good information. While you are feeling helpful, I thought I would pick your brain a little more. Yes, the Morini is one of the others I was considering. I have also heard good things about the trigger on the Pardini. One thing that the LP 10 has that these two don't seem to,...

Thanks for the directions. I think I have seen your directions on another thread some place as well. You mention setting the weight on each of the stages. That was kind of what I was wanting to know about. How do you measure these weights. I know you can put a 500 gm weight on the trigger to see if ...

I have doing a lot more reading lately, and I have pretty much come to the same conclusion. Especially at my level there is no real reason to try to get a super light second stage, and in fact there seem to be good reasons not to. Now I just have a question on how you actually go about setting up th...

Thanks, the info explained things very well. Since there is little or no chance that I will run in to someone to do the work for me, the decision becomes --- is this going to be important enough to me that I should be looking for a different pistol to try. I am just getting started, so I am not alre...

Thanks for the info. If 500 is very light, and this guy was complaing because he couldn't get under 100 consistently, then maybe he didn't need to be going there in the first place. :>)

Newbie question on hand pumps

The only real knock I have seen against using hand pumps to charge air pistols, is that it is quite a work out, and you wouldn't want an aerobic workout just before shooting. I was wondering how long can you leave the tanks on the guns charged. If you pumped them up the day before, would they still ...

LP10 trigger

I have just recently started looking in to shooting a quality air pistol. One of the forums I stumbled across had a guy talking about having problems setting the second stage of the trigger on his LP 10 to the same low level he had been using on his LP 1. He said he actually had to modify one of the...
