Re: Scuba tank setup for air pistol cylinder refills

Unfortunately, they are the only place on the planet that does such a nice job on this stuff. The shipping is pretty quick.

Re: Scuba tank setup for air pistol cylinder refills

Buy a used 80 CF tank at a dive shop with a "K" valve, and put the money you save towards a decent fill adapter setup. The pressure gauges on cylinders are notoriously inaccurate, and unscrewing cylinders under pressure will cause extra wear on the threads. The team I help coach uses 3 of ...

Re: Scuba tank setup for air pistol cylinder refills

Depending on your age & physical condition, I would recommend only an 80 CF tank. I'm in my early 70's, and can handle an 80 just fine, but the 100 is just big & heavy enough that I dread wrestling with them. The team I help coach has a couple of each. Unless you shoot a LOT, an 80 should la...

Re: FWB P8X vs Morini CM 200EI

One thing to factor in is where to get them serviced. Pardini USA provides service for their pistols, but I know some people have had issues with them. Our host used to sell & service Morini, but their service operation is in a bit of turmoil, and they currently only service Steyrs. The place th...

Re: Barrel debris

I suspect it's brass. Occasionally, they don't adjust the crimping die carefully enough. Instead of crimping the mouth of the case, the die is set too low and cuts into the brass. I was shooting Eley Target ammo several years ago, and found brass flakes all over the inside of my Benelli MP90S: Eley ...

Re: Show us your Free Pistol

Welcome to the wonderful world of free pistol. A friend of mine was describing the shot process for free pistol to some new comers who had never seen the sport before. Most of the steps were pretty conventional, except towards the end after the shot was fired. They were: Realign your sights Lower th...

There are a couples ways to add pictures. You need to use the full editor. If you have the photo parked on-line somewhere, you can use the "insert image" button above the text entry box. If the photo is on your computer, go down below the text entry box & click on the "Attachments...

You can get a good deal on a spare regulator AND a new cylinder & spare fill adapter by purchasing the Steyr CO2 conversion kit.

Re: Morini free pistol compensator

Nice designs! How well does the compensator section hold up to firing? My Morini arrived with the compensator forward. It got coated internally with lead & powder fouling fairly quickly, and was a pain to clean. I gave up & moved it back so the that front of the compensator was flush with th...

Re: Adjusting rear sight as novice

Don't worry about centering your group until your groups are around the size of the black or smaller. Work on consistency on the back of a target until you can do that. You will probably find that the group will grow when you start shooting with the black visible. The most common issue is high shots...

Re: Сylinder gauge changing

Swapping gauges is do-able, but it is much easier on some brands than others. You will probably need a special pin spanner, and a safe way to hold the cylinder securely. Here's a whole thread on the subject:

Re: Adjusting rear sight as novice

When I was starting out, I'd rest my hand on a tripod to set my sights. With an air pistol that doesn't recoil significantly, that will certainly get you in the ball park. It works a little better if you support your wrist, and still hold the pistol with one hand. I've seen people try to get their ...

Re: Adjusting rear sight as novice

You need to work on "calling" your shots. If you are focused on your front sight, and trying to keep everything aligned, when the shot goes off, you can learn to take a mental picture of what everything looked like at the instant the pistol fired. From that, you can estimate where the shot...

If you are in the US, I'd try Neal Stepp at International Shooters Service to see if he has one. You have to telephone, and you may have to call more than once. He will probably have to go digging for one, and he can be forgetful.

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

Most of the .22 springs I've measured are at least 110 mm. The average is around 115 mm. If your .22 spring was only 100 mm, that's a problem right there. Given the range of spring parameters I've seen from pistols that worked just fine, they aren't very fussy. That's why I'm surprised you had issue...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

The .32 spring is a whole different animal. Just listing the change in wire size is meaningless when everything else has changed as well. I've never seen serious feeding issues caused by weak springs, but anything is possible. Now that I've stopped chasing problems caused by the long firing pins, I'...

One of the few Pardini videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DpPdrVPRhA recommends silicone grease for the cylinder seal. Is the recommendation to use this on the cylinder and moly type grease on the threads? James. The SuperLube grease is good for both seals and cylinder threads. Mol...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

Spring force increases by the FORTH power of the wire diameter. If your wire diameter numbers are correct, that means your new spring is over 3 times stronger than before. I'm amazed it works at all unless you are shooting hot ammo. Because the force is so sensitive to the wire diameter, it is reall...
