You are still stuck with the problem that the bore line of the Ruger is close to an inch higher than that of any of the magazine-forward European guns. Also, a one-size-fits-all molded grip isn't the answer unless it happens to fit YOU. The European pistols come in at least three grip sizes typicall...

Getting parts is a serious consideration, but it's too bad you gave up on the Benelli. There are now several sources of parts for them in the US, including Brownells. They typically don't stock them, but they can special order them and their prices are competitive. I wonder if they could special ord...

First question, are you right or left handed? Thumbing for a righthanded shooter would push the shots to the right, not the left. As someone pointed out, it's hard to decipher what's going with a target with so many shots. You could be doing several things at different times. A couple of recommendat...

I would second the recomendation for the Pardini. Hammerli was legendary for the support they gave pistols they hadn't made in decades. Walther IMHO is notorious for NOT providing long term support for their pistols. The MIT pistol team had a a couple of older GSP's in the mid to late 80's. Accordin...

New Steyr LP50 Owner With a Few Questions
I just got an LP50, and I'm trying to sort out a few issues. There are several pieces that came with it that don't seem to be mentioned in the manual. 1) A black U-shaped plastic piece. This looks about the right size to fit inside the grip, and would raise the frame of the pistol about half a cm re...

I have an MP90S, which shoots very well. The only problem I've ever had with it is a busted firing pin after about 5K rounds. However, they can't be easily dry-fired like a Pardini. I've tended to steer away from Walthers because they don't tend to support their older pistols very well. If they chan...

Yes, Greg, thanks for all your work on this. It was critical to get this out of the legislature before this year's session ended (this week). I haven't heard if there is any sort of time issue once it gets to the Governor's desk. He's busy dealing with Big Dig issues, and I just hope it doesn't die ...

One technique I've found useful is to acquire my sight picture above the black. I get everything lined up and sharply in focus on the target with the black just below my sights, and then lower my sights to my sub-6 hold before squeezing off the shot. I've found that I can ensure my focus is where it...

That's a different style from the Saf-T-Trainers. They might be worth a try. The only thing that bugs me is the claim that they have an internal spring, which is clearly only for the center fire sizes. Presumably that's just somebody at Midway not paying much attention. They've been around a while, ...

The most common plastic dummy rounds available in the US are orange. They are made from a moderately brittle plastic, and the rim can chip from firing pin impact and then they can drop little plastic bits into the action. I'd love to find a source for similar rounds that are made from something toug...

I had looked at the California DOJ web site, and even did a couple searches. I couldn't find a list there, and had to hit the web at large to come up with anything. I'm glad they have a much broader list than the one I found. I went back and tried again, and this time I found it right off: http://ca...
