I bought an LP50 with the heavy trigger to practice for bullseye. I have the trigger set to 2 pounds to match my Pardini SP. I don't shoot air pistol much competitively these days, but my impression is that I shoot as well or better with the heavy trigger in practice . The one informal match I fired...

3) clean up curled up metal (peened) around rim recess on bolt face. Use small file. (this one I don't feel so courageous to try yet) Good choice! This is NOT the right way to fix this. If metal has gotten peened into the recess, you are much better off peening it back in place. This will probably ...

There are different degrees of "locked". From a score/accuracy standpoint the idea of a locked elbow is to eliminate motion in the joint. Any more pressure than is required to do that is unnecessary, and if overdone, likely to cause elbow problems. I have NEVER heard anybody explain this t...

Ed's description of his elbow angle is nearly identical to how I shoot. That certainly isn't a cure if you've already ticked off your elbow the way I have. Overextending or locking the elbow hard definitely makes it worse. Once I had managed to really mess up my elbow, I started getting tingling &am...

I posted a query about this issue a while back. Lots of opinions were put forth, no real answers. I've been dealing with elbow pain off & on for about 30 years. I have been experimenting, and I think it is a combination of things: 1) Physiology of the shooter, i.e bone shape, elbow geometry, pas...

Battery leakage = corrosion, so it may be as simple as the contacts to the pistol got iffy. When you removed the old module & installed in the other pistol, it could easily have scrubbed the corrosion off the contacts, or seated in a way that got a solid connection to the second pistol.

If the problem with the SCATT is reflections off the low ceiling, some sort of surface treatment or baffle system might help. I don't know enough about how it works to make any specific recommendations. I work in RF & microwaves, and regularly use special absorbing foam to kill unwanted reflecti...

Yes, but its a gimmick that works as a training aid . I've found a spot of orange chalk very useful to teach people to focus on the front sight. Once you've learned that, you don't need it any more. World class shooters don't do it because they already know how to focus on the front sight. The folks...

Some of it is muscle tone, strength, etc., but some of it is simple physics. A pistol wobbles due to motion in the wrist, elbow, shoulder etc. If you twitch, it imparts a force to the pistol. The pistol will accelerate proportional to this force, but the acceleration gets divided by the mass of the ...

One trick that I've found helpful it to put a small colored chalk mark on the back of the front sight to help draw your focus. Don't color the whole back, just apply a small spot. If you can't see every detail of it's shape, you either aren't focusing on the front sight, or need new glasses. How wel...

If you are shooting with a 6:00 or sub-6 sight picture, it could also be a sign of looking at the target instead of the front sight.

I would wait as long as possible to see how reliable they are. Most firearms manufacturers do not have much expertise in electronics. The list of pistols that have had serious problems with electronics triggers is almost as long as the list of pistols that have electronic triggers. I think the techn...

I took Brian Zin's clinic about a year & a half ago. I normally shoot with a fairly neutral stance, not leaning a lot one way or another. He strongly suggested that I should lean more forward, with more weight on my front foot. The theory is that it allows a quicker, more stable recovery in sust...

I've used Watco for decades on a variety of woodworking projects, including some grips. It is a polymerizing finish that soaks in & then hardens. It is available in a dark color that would help to darken up light walnut. The catch is that it won't necessarily work over an existing finish. I've u...

I have a Pardini SP New that I am trying to learn to shoot as well as my Benelli MP90S. I also had elbow problems, and got a more upright grip from Nil Griffe, and I removed 4 of the 6 muzzle weights. It still isn't nearly as steady as the Benelli. If you don't want a Pardini, I would seriously cons...

Many years ago, the "10X" company (long since deceased) made shooting apparel. It was mostly rifle coats, but they also made pistol shooting jackets. They were khaki twill, and they had front pockets cut at an angle so it was very comfortable to put your non-shooting hand in the jacket poc...

If all you want to do is move the trigger forward, it shouldn't affect any of the other adjustments. Things differ a bit depending on which exact model you have, but on an SP New the trigger shoe has a clamp that holds the shoe to a rod. You loosen the clamp and slide the shoe along the rod and then...
