LP50 Shoots Fine, But Doesn't Cock When Dry Firing?
I dusted off my LP50 to practice sustained fire. I haven't fired it in quite some time (over a year?). It works fine with pellets, but I tried the dry fire adapter, and I get one "shot", and that's it. I have to re-cock it manually after each shot, and when I do, the adapter advances 2 sho...

Re: Pardini SP: Trigger has stopped running smoothly
Did you find a solution to this problem? Mine trigger feels exactly the same as you are described yours and I tried cleaning it vigorously a few times and lubricating but nothing helped. A lot depends on what and how you cleaned it, not how vigorous you were. If you didn't remove and disassemble th...

<snip> Interesting as the O-Rings I removed (Piston and valve) were Red suggesting they were Silicon. <snip> Unfortunately, O-ring colors aren't standardized, and are often meaningless. https://www.globaloring.com/oring-colors/ " It is never safe to assume an o-ring is a specific material base...

Re: Goal setting and expectations for beginner
As Thirdwheel said, lots of people get overly bent out of shape about cross-dominant vision. For target shooting, as long as the vision in the non-dominant eye is good (or at least correctable to good), you are best off shooting with your non-dominant eye so you can shoot with your dominant hand. Bl...

Re: Morini air cylinder
If you aren't planning on going to any big competitions, you can probably get a good deal on a used one that is past its 10 year "life". Morini cylinders were rated for 20 years before the 10 year rule went into effect, and if they are properly cared for, they are perfectly safe. If you ar...

Re: Caring for an MG2E
I've examined mine, and I don't see how the ball/spring could have escaped, or how to easily take it apart to replace them. The width & depth of the notch are adjustable, and it's a lot more complex than many sights. The exploded diagram doesn't provide nearly enough detail to aid in disassembly...

The college pistol teem I help coach uses these for students who don't wear glasses: https://www.safetyglassesusa.com/delta-plus-rx-500c-safety-glasses-black-frame-clear-full-lens-magnifier/?sku=RX-500C-05 They are available in +0.50D and 0.75D strength. +0.75D is theoretically close to optimum, but...

The weight difference will be small. You are talking about adding a short length of hollow aluminum tubing to go from short to full length. Most of the weight is in the ends.

Re: Hammerli AP20 Bolt Closing Adjustment
Most air pistols require disassembly to change the O-ring on the bolt. I want to identify the pistols that pop open the worst & see if I can tell the difference. I can also contact the gunsmith at Walther/Umarex USA.

Re: Hammerli AP20 Bolt Closing Adjustment
I checked over 20 of our pistols, and basically NONE of them actually "latch" in any positive way. The lever just goes down and stops. The only pistol I found that seemed to have any positive latching action is one I switched to left handed, and the lever is rubbing on the inside of the gr...

Re: Hammerli AP20 Bolt Closing Adjustment
Once it's cocked, the striker spring #78 is held by the pawl system, and shouldn't have any effect on the cocking lever. I have a picture of the cocking lever that shows that the cross pin through the bolt should effectively "latch" into the front of the slot where it hooks backward slight...

Re: Caring for an MG2E
There should be a small spring loaded ball (part #2068) that provides the clicks. Mine has very strong clicks. It sounds like the ball or the spring (or both) are missing. The exploded diagram isn't at all clear about where the windage detent system is buried, and the rear sight assembly is pretty c...

Hammerli AP20 Bolt Closing Adjustment
The college team I help coach bought twenty six AP20's in 2019 that we use to get students started. Other than a few initial problems, they have been very reliable. We've started up again this fall, and a minor issue I've noticed in the past appears to be spreading and getting worse. On most of the ...

Re: Caring for an MG2E
I tried to find the best frame to post as a picture here, but didn't find it quickly. I may be able to put up the videos on Youtube. I have 2 showing ejection failures, and two where the case escaped OK. It still happens so fast that I couldn't tell what was going wrong. Now that I have an MG2 that ...

Re: Walther GSP Trouble Shooting?
The reason we keep a couple of GSP's around is that have the weakest recoil springs of any quality target pistol I know of. That allows some of our very smaller women shooters to operate the slide easily. The GSP uses a very massive bolt to compensate for the light spring. I'm very surprised you con...

Re: Caring for an MG2E
I took some movies at about 1000 frames per second. The entire action cycle took about 4 frames. In one, you can see unburned and still burning powder falling out of the case AFTER it has left the pistol. That was probably with either Aguila or CCI. I've examined cases and cleaning patches from abou...

Re: Walther GSP Trouble Shooting?
That's certainly very odd. It could be that the lubricant is getting less viscous as it heats up, but that shouldn't produce the failures you are getting. However, the metal bits will expand with heat, which would be consistent with a mechanical tolerance issue. Taking it apart and examining all the...

Re: Walther GSP Trouble Shooting?
The lubricant on the bullets can change its characteristics with temperature. Ordinarily, the effect is minor and not an issue. If something else is now marginal, colder temperatures could make the lubricant stiffer/stickier and push it over the cliff. If that was the case, I would expect the proble...
