Re: Does your anschutz barrel have to warm up?
I watched the Brownells video and the cleaning pellets along with the Kroil and JB looks like a good method. I'll shoot a bit more after my most current cleaning to see if it helped at all. Then perhaps next month I'll order some of this cleaning stuff from Brownells, I've spent enough on gun stuff...

Re: eye relief
We do not have adjustable rear apertures so I have adjusted the "eye relief" by bringing the rear sight as close as i can to the rear, and at least through my eyes I do not get anywhere near that amount of light and space around the front globe. So i ask the question to determine if i nee...

Re: eye relief
I'm somewhat interested to read different views on this topic. My mental image of my sight picture is: The ring in the element of my front site is crystal clear. The target is a little fuzzy. I don't know what is outside the tunnel, and am only vaguely aware of the rear sight aperture. I'm looking f...

Re: Pulse shooting technique
I don't claim to be a world class shooter. As a matter of fact I'm pretty mediocre. I do know this: If I am thinking about my pulse, then I'm not fully focused on the front sight. I know my scores show a noticeable drop when I am thinking about anything else. Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Sight Al...

Re: Questions about Browning Medalist
It looks like your missing the manual and the key to the box. Everything else is there. As a plinker, they are mighty tough to beat. I prefer mine over a S&W 41, and they are a lot more rare. You can get quite a bit of information over at rimfirecentral too. As a gauge, I purchased mine 2 years ...

I'm going to an indian market tonight
I'll see if they have some camphor available.
It sounds like a used ALTOIDS tin would be a good sight smoker box. Would that work or do I need something more airtight?

Santa Margarita Gun Club
Here's our club website: http://www.smgunclub.org/ Unfortunately the Pistol Range we used was burned in the fires this month. We are working to rebuild. Stay tuned on the website for details. P.S. in the mean time, bring your rifle out to the XTC matches. I would recommend talking to http://ocarmory...

Get a dedicated shooting sweater - not a sweatshirt
If you choose to purchase a jacket, a dedicated shooting sweater - not a common sweatshirt should be considered. The shooting sweater will provide double layers of padding in the appropriate areas without adding bulk on the inside of the elbows or in the armpits. A proper shooting sweater will large...

I just found these for my glove!
http://shopbushido.com/glove-deodorizer.html Rank smelling gloves are a problem for fighters too. I work near their shop, and happened upon these products while I was getting equipment for my other interests. They work surprisingly well! I've got one shoved into both of my gloves (I alternate betwee...

Take a look at RimfireCentral.com
RimfireCentral.com has an extensive forum dedicated to the Remington Model 37 and 40x. They also have a pretty good grip on that segment of the market. Most of them shoot from a bench, and the inclinations over there are toward the more highly customized rifles, but they will know what questions to ...

Skip the parade manual of arms
You don't need to worry about the parade positions! Just the postitions you use to shoot. I never use "order arms", "present arms", "trail arms", "right/left shoulder arms" for any shooting purposes. Maybe a quick "port arms" while moving the rifle. ...

I find that they can get mis-aligned if I tilt my head in position. If I cant the rifle to my face, I don't have a problem. OH, Kneeling, and Prone - I'm OK. I can't find a sitting position that allows me to keep my head up and still have solid bone support. Probably not an issue for ISSF courses of...

Ahaaa!
Johan - Looking at the second picture that you posted, it shows the loop of your sling very close to your elbow. If you position your sling below the bicep, you will have to run the sling below your wrist. If you sling up above the bicep, it will be easier to get that clamping action across the back...

Creedmoor Eyepiece
Interesting, that Creedmoor scope has a lot of eye relief, just second to the Kowa (which is out of my price range). Does the Creedmoor (and for that matter, scopes like the Celestron Ultima 80 or 100) allow swapping of eyepieces? If so, then this search may be more a matter of finding decent enoug...

Good eye relief
I hunted long and hard to find an inexpensive scope with good eye relief. I compared everything I could get my hands on, and looked at tons of others on-line. Hands down, outside of a Kowa LER eyepiece this is the one that has the best eyerelief and has decent resolution. Eye relief is way better th...

I can deal with the muzzle blast and the shock wave
It's the incessant chatter from the boob 2 lanes over who knows everything about anything, and has the audacity to insinuate that what we do is easy. Once his chatter starts burning thru my concentration, it just gets hotter and darker inside my head. That's when I start rushing shots and dropping p...

I would hate to see the Olympic Rifle Catagory cluttered up with a bunch of postings about ARs, F-Class, etc. The uniqueness of this site is based on the specific topics covered here! I ran across this table at the CMP website and I thought it may be helpful.

From reading all of the previous posts, I was pretty sure that the dot I use for dry-fire is at the wrong height. Now I'm certain!
