Good advice, Rob. I have found myself falling into the same mental trap. It's hard not to look at a card when you put up a new one, so I'm going to shoot an odd number of shots between breaks in a 60 shot practice session.
Regards,
Fred

Printing RIKA Traces
Ed,
I have set up my RIKA for trigger training as you suggest. I would like to save some of the traces by printing them; how do you do that? I tried the RIKA print function, but the prints look nothing like the nice large clear ones you put into your description on your web site.

Is Air Available at the 3X Match?
Because of all the uncertainty around AP air cylinders on airplanes, I plan to ship mine. Are SCBA tanks available at the match? Do I need just my adapter, or adapter plus SCBA valve?

Suggest you take a look at the Tau 7 pistol. Pictures and info are available on the Pilkington web site. A light weight cost competitive alternative to the IZH46M. I also suggest that you start with a single shot AP. Good 5 shot models like the Steyr are expensive. From what I've heard, the less exp...

Re: Blurry target
Shooting at a target that looks blurry is driving me nuts.I'm shooting at 15 pool balls on the target and all you see is a blur of each color. Ron Ron, are you shooting at a target with multiple bulleyes? That would certainly give me a headache! Stick with the 10 meter AP target, also called the B4...

Re: Pistol loading
You do not really want to keep grip of the gun whilst loading. It is far better to take your hand out and re-position for each shot, once you've loaded. I always load my gun (LP10) in my shooting hand then hold it by the barrel (in my other hand) and relocate it into my shooting hand. Rob. Rob, wha...

Seems like in this forum- and in general- most people want to agonize over the equipment. I guess talking about training plans and the shot process is boring. While 'talking about...' may (or may not be) boring, there is little doubt that doing the training is tedious and hard work. Much more fun t...

Re: To Pump or Not
And condensated water do collect in air guns, especially in warm and humid climates. For same reason high pressure pumps should not be used often to fill cylinders. The dehumidifiers, buildt into some pumps, are not very efficient. Go for the scuba tanks. As has been pointed out on TT in the past -...

Cleaning with a pull through
I clean my LP1 and LP50 1-2/year with a nylon cord pull thru. I use a short length of brass tubing inserted into the barrel shroud/compensator to protect the muzzle. Unlike a firearm, pickup of abrasive material by the nylon cord should be minimal in an AP environment. I wipe the cord after each use...

Grip Putty
David has good advice (as always).
If you still can't obtain the natural position David describes by moving the trigger forward, then you might consider using grip putty to build up the grip. Or buying a larger grip for your Walther.

Here's an exercise I do that takes some of the tedium out of dryfiring: five dry fires then one live. If the shot is 9 or better, fire another live. If not, do five more dry fires then try another live. After a number of dry fires, I find that I really concentrate on the live shot so that I can cont...
