Re: Cylinder date

It means that if you try to shoot a match after May 2028 with that cylinder, a judge will order a bailiff to whack your peepee. Thanks! I need a good laugh this AM. :) To Evansmount: I will say it was 15 years ago, ISSF decided that air cylinders more than ten years old were a public safety hazard....

Re: 2025-2028 Rifle technical changes - anything new?

This is the $128,000 question. We are in that time of the year, just at the beginning of another Olympic quad where if significant rules changes are going to be made, they tend to occur now. Additionally, it is usually Nov/Dec where rules, even with minor changes, tend to be released with an 'effect...

Re: ISO used Precision Rifle .177 Cal

Shooterer has provided a more comprehensive list of possible air gun sources vendors. You could also add https://www.pyramydair.com/ as Pyramyd has a very wide assortment of air rifles or ALL sorts. If you know what you want, you can probably find better prices at these big box airgun stores. If you...

Re: ISO used Precision Rifle .177 Cal

Some of your usual suspects would be:

Champions Choice: (615) 793-4066
Oberlie Enterprises: (720) 670-6818
International Shooter Service (Neal Stepp) (817) 595-2090

If you are looking for used, I recommend calling a asking. Used inventory does not always get posted online.

Re: Tec-HRO Fanatic Forearm Width

Hey 'Greyhounds,

While I did not mention it, changing the profile had skittered through my addled brain. Nice solution.

Where are you getting the forend rail? In the era of aluminum stocks fewer and fewer supply housed carry rail.

Thanks

Re: Tec-HRO Fanatic Forearm Width

My Gemini has a scale alongbthe fore-end, but fairly coarse, I settled on a strip of masking tape. It's not as pretty as laser etching, but much cheaper, and surprisingly durable. Masking (or similar) tape gets it done as well. There are a number of options for off the shelf stocks these days. As t...

Re: Tec-HRO Fanatic Forearm Width

There are a few stocks out there from mild to wild in terms of price point. Tec-Hro being more reasonable. This one from SE has caught my eye https://www.shootingequipment.de/en/Weapons-accessory/Stocks/Small-big-bore-stocks/SE-stock-shape-H.html and if I ever find the right barreled action, I might...

Re: Changing risers on FWB 800X…?

First, my little rant about how for the money we spend on these rifles they could do a better job with the strength of the metals where adjustments are constantly made. A steel (stainless steel) screw into aluminum threads is pretty much a recipe for failure. In my experience, the metal used for mou...

Re: Question for the Coaches

dude, the OP wrote “as long as his arm.” I think he already found a coach. If he had not, your comment would have been appropriate and correct. In shooting sports a coach’s gender is not indicative of their abilities. If you read my intro clause, I noted that OP has specifically identified the male...

...make sure to enjoy the services of the superlative coach and be, so to speak, like putty in his hands. While you made reference to a coach who is a dude the above is applicable. If you continue your journey, be open to a coach that happens to be a dudette. Especially in smallbore and air rifle t...

These are cut and past from your similar post in Buy Sell Trade but these are some guns that would be reasonable starter air pistols Air Arms Alfa PCP Competition Pistol, new I think they are a little more than $1000 but you might find one used. Re: Best PCP Air gun for beginner- (Budget-friendly)

Thanks for your response, Can you recommend any site where I could buy one? Also how does this dealer thing work? Do I have to go to the nearest store which shows on Walter’s dealer map and ask them to order one for me? I’m really clueless as to how it works. Air guns are not regulated the way fire...

Air Venturi Comp10 is well below $1000 The Air Arms is probably the best of the lot with Hammerli comi...

History lessons about Annie Oakley (given name properly spelled Mosey) aside, the key statement here is the part about reasonable quality and appropriate physical size. Given that 3P smallbore has become quite specialized, one with a design that lends itself to that style of competition would also b...

Re: Wtb a good budget starting 3p Smallbore rifle

In the initial post you mention an Anschutz 5098. What I expect you meant was an Anschutz Model 64 or the later spinoff 1903. (5098 appears to refer to the trigger for a match 64 or 1903) For your price range, $1000 to $1250 you should be able to find a gently used 1903. An earlier suggestion that y...

With regard to the clothing kit: Don't worry about the shoes. Yeah, they are nice but the rules allow for regular athletic training shoes. If you get an athlete that really takes to it and want to buy their own boots, more power to them. You have left out sling, glove and kneeling roll. For precisio...

This does not include absolutely everything regarding the modern standing position but Heinz Reinkemeier does publish some very good instructional videos. Watch it a few times, and it should help get you started.
