Re: Student Air Rifle Program released

I've found that many rules serve no other purpose than to be abided. I would have to agree with you there. Just like the shorts being 15cm above the knee. I wouldn't care if they they wore beach wear on the range. (Except for some of the pistol events with brass flying about). I was on the pistol j...

Re: Student Air Rifle Program released

It is not fair to those who chose to abide by the rules. That's what many shooters and coaches don't understand. We are not applying the rules to penalize shooters, we are applying them to support the shooters who abide by the rules. Yep - You hit it on the head there. I always enjoy seeing well co...

Re: Student Air Rifle Program released

You can go ahead and name that official. I won't take offense. Each year at PPP nationals we are told what rules we will work with. I have nothing to do with that decision. I do recommend rules to the governing body, and sometimes they actually modify their rules per my input. But not always. But wh...

Re: Ball bearings at DNBBGCM?

Wow - $5.52 for a pack of 50. Are they giving away a new F-150 at nationals? That's 2.5 times higher than the best match pellets. I'm not a BB gun guy, but is this what it takes to compete at this game??

Re: ISSF or BullsEye Pistol training locations/clubs in Colo

John - I went to their website and as of April of this year they were shooting a 2700 on the 4th Saturday of the month. I think they stop indoor 2700's at that point and start doing the outdoor matches at Colorado Rifle Club. I used to shoot the 2700's during the winter at Cherry Creek. They never h...

Re: ISSF or BullsEye Pistol training locations/clubs in Colo

You are right Mr Bickar. It doesn't take 1.5 hours to get from South Denver to Arvada. I live 4 miles from Arvada Rifle and Pistol Club and it takes me about 90 minutes to get from there all the way to the OTC in Colorado Springs and that is with a quick stop in Castle Rock for a fast food breakfast...

Re: ISSF or BullsEye Pistol training locations/clubs in Colo

The Arvada Rifle and Pistol Club you referred to has an international night on Monday nights where various ISSF events are shot. We have turning targets at 25m. We also have 10m ranges for air pistol. The OTC has matches that run from about September through usually May. These are PTO's and they hav...

Re: Sense of Hospitality Permeates ISSF World Cup Competitio

I remember an occasion quite a few years ago when one of the Chinese sport pistol shooters arrived at Ft Benning without a pistol. Thanks to the generous offering of our host, Scott Pilkington, she was able to compete with a brand new Morini CM22. He provided the pistol, and she provided the talent,...

Re: Hancock Wins Gold To Close ISSF World Cup Guadalajara

Nick did make it to the finals, but did not place. He shot well during qualifying, finishing tied for 5th at 574. He was the highest US finisher in air pistol. He was first out in the final. We had no other men or women go to the finals in air pistol or air rifle.

Re: ISSF Rules - 2nd Printing

I save the file in Google Drive. Then it is available on my phone, my tablet and my laptop. And since it is a PDF it is very simple to search.

I guess I don't understand what you mean by "easier to use." I can't imagine anything easier to use that the format it is already in.

David. I appreciate you posting this here. Just out of curiosity, have you reviewed this document to see if there are any changes from the first printing. Sure wish they would post the changes so we don't have to read the whole 530+ page document word for word to find the changes.

Re: Lones Wigger: Legend Lost

We are diminished. Hard to imagine anyone who has given back more to the sport. I was fortunate enough to work with him for many World Cups. We would work the airport together along with Gail Shetler, Robert Abbott, Mary Kay and others. We would meet and greet the athletes from all over the world. T...

Re: Offhand stand comparison?

Watched something I had never seen before while working the Winter Airgun Match. George Norton was using a Techro stand. He needed a slight adjustment and was able to raise the stand with one hand. Released the clamp, raised it and closed the clamp all with one hand. Pretty tough to do with most sta...
