I have seen Dan Hunts HP sights in person, they are very nice. Don't know if they are worth 400. I bought my Gates from a good friend for $300 I think. Doug K. I feel like $400 is a lot, but when an old used sight for $300 is a good deal, a brand new one of equal quality @ $400 doesn't seem too unr...

The last targets were shot with Tenex, but I generally don't shoot Eley because I haven't had a ton of success with it. My rifle seemed to really like the Federal 900B/UM1, but since I can't get any of that stuff anymore, I've been left searching for something that is good enough. I shot RWS R50 at ...

Thanks for all the replies. I have had the barrel cut and crowned since I've owned it, so that shouldn't be an issue. I shot it tonight, 50ft on A36 targets - 100-10x, so maybe it's just me after all (which I figured as much). Is it possible to hold the x ring at 50 feet but shoot like crap at 50 ya...

Barrel worn out?

I've been shooting a Win 52B since the mid 90s. It has the original barrel on it, and I've put at least 100k rounds through it in that time. Who knows it's history for the 50 years previous. Is there any way that I can check to see if the barrel is toast?

Short Barrel vs Muzzel Velocity in regards to Accuracy

I have a Winchester 52B that I've been shooting for the past 15+ years. When I started shooting it, I noticed that it liked Federal Gold Medal ammo better than any level of Eley. I didn't think much of it at the time, and just kept shooting Federal. Well an interesting thing happened to me this week...

Where to find cheap practice ammo?

Who's got a line on some cheap practice ammo? Under $200 or so a case would be nice. I usually shoot Federal 714, but rising costs have forced me to look for alternative sources or ammo.

Ranges in Colorado?

I am looking at possibly moving to Colorado Springs. Are there any smallbore leagues and/or ranges that are sympathetic to smallbore?

I have tried that already. It doesn't necessarily work. Here's why - my team (just like the rest of them in my area) is a High School Varsity Sport. So I only get a couple of kids that really want to do it and excel. The rest of them are there for something to do, or their parents want them to parti...

Maybe I should clarify this a little: I need something for my shooters to do when not shooting. I have to run multiple relays, and I want to keep them busy with something productive. I figure that a good video series would do the trick. I just find it hard to give the individual attention to all of ...

I have that already, but it is too complicated for the begining shooter to read (especially if they are 13 years old).

I shot like crap. It is hard to shoot single bull targets with the hand crank, and have to pump the rifle every time. I found myself rushing through at the end on both relays. It might be time to look into a Compressed Air gun...

I just had a similar experience with the NRA Conventional 3P sectionals. I just had one of those days. Part of it is what the match means to you - if you think it is a "big match", you will probably be a little more "concerned" with your performance. Not nervous, but aware that y...
