It may not be an Olympic sport anymore, but it is in the World Shooting Championships every 4 years, for both men and women. Prone and sport 3P for women; prone, free 3P, and standard 3P for men. Next time is Granada, Spain in 2014.

Re: PayPal is anti gun

I've also heard of PayPal account holders having their PayPal accounts closed when PayPal discovered that they were simply gun related customers, not necessarily selling guns, but just gun related businesses. I have heard this about PP too. They are so darned convenient in many ways, but if time is...

Yes, as Eric U pointed out, the whitish paint/coating was sanded off to reveal the bare aluminum on my stock as well prior to bedding.

I use the Gehmann no-pulse sling for both smallbore and 300 meters and am happy with it. The only problem was the sling easily detaching where it connects to the arm band part, but that was fixed with a simple screw. It would only happen when I was putting the sling on my coat and it was loose, neve...

Stiffness is indeed an advantage, but flatness is more a matter of your personal preference and comfort. Some people say a flatter heel encourages natural balance in standing, but others are just more comfortable with a bit of elevation. If you're shopping around, you might want to check out Corami ...

I have an Anschutz aluminum stock and it is bedded and has been for years, with no problems. It shoots great. I use 3 inch-pounds to torque, though it probably doesn't even need that much. Don't need to check the torque much at all, either. The foam padding was removed first, of course, before beddi...

GaryN, I took a look at your link, because it's been a while! Based on my memory and your pics, I think I had the 70. As for the sights, I can't recall for sure, but I know it was a peep sight.

I started out with a Daisy BB gun before the Diana. It would probably be easier for a 5-year-old to load and shoot. Like alanwein says, it's very light.

The memories...I had a Diana when I was little, around 9 or 10 years old, and shot it in competitions as well. I remember liking it a lot. Best wishes and lots of fun with your son!

In addition to Nancy's book, I think the DVD "Winning in the Wind" by Lones Wigger and Lanny Bassham is excellent as well. Between the two, you'll have an great base of techniques to practice and build upon. I think Champion's Choice carries it.

If you can find an eye doctor who's game, the best solution is to bring your rifle to his office and set up a target at 50 ft or 50m, and let him put different lenses in front of your eye while you look through the sights. Clarity and comfort are both important to consider. My eye doc had me do this...

Have you looked at the Bee Sting? http://www.beesafeusa.com/beesting.htm It's a really nicely made bloop tube made by Tarl Kempley. You can get one with or without a tuner. They are custom made to fit your barrel diameter and to whatever length you want. Plus they're made with carbon fiber, which is...
