Tesro indeed. And he is also using Tesros new recoil dampening system.

Btw, Ralf Shumanns barrel weight is something else than just a standard Pardini weight... Anyone got more information? Will his prototype ever get into production? Off topic, I know! :-)

Morini free pistol compensator

Hi all,

As far as I understand there are two different compensators made by morini for CM84E, one with holes and the other one (more like the TOZ comp) with slots. Anyone tried them? Do they make a difference in shot feeling etc?

Re: Russian translation site for the Russian target talk

http://translation.imtranslator.net try this translation web site this is some crazy stuff and it even works. I was very impressed. It's not perfect by any means but it gets you close enough to figure out what they are talking about. Hmm... that translator doesn't work at all when using the web pag...

When holding your free pistol you must be able to freely move your wrist up and down. I think it's the same definition with AP.

Anyone know what grip brand Jakkrit is using on his morini free pistol? It's covering his whole thumb. Looks neat! :-) It's almost certainly a heavily customised 'normal' grip. You can do exactly the same to any FP grip - if you know what you're doing and you've got a lot of morini grip compound (o...

Always a lot of talk what gun the champs are using. What I find more intresting is the grips they are using. For instance the Thai shooter Air pistol: http://www.issf.tv/media/foto/2006/571/4099/IMG_003_AP602.jpg Free pistol: http://www.issf.tv/media/foto/2006/571/4094/IMG_008_FP4.jpg How do you gu...

My ap scores are 500-506 so i have quite a way to go. However if i focus i average in the upper 80's low 90's I suspect my mental game needs work. I have not shot a freepistol match yet. Hi James, Just a little bit of advice on your exciting journey of pistol shooting. Do not worry so much about eq...

Excellent thread. Lapua/Norma factory load is absolutly the best for Pardini HP IMHO. Perfect round holes and perfect precision. Magtech is also good. But I have had a keyhole in the 5 ring in a competition, since then I do not trust Magtech anymore. I have no idea why it happened, recoil was normal...

If you want to shoot many more bad shots, here's what you do: think about why you shot the bad shot. Analyze it; try to figure out what went wrong and why the shot was bad. Come up with an action plan for how to prevent similar shots. Be sure to get at teh "root cause" of the bad shot and...

Very interesting JDF! Impressive results indeed. What about hollow base, is that possible when doing home-casting? I did some tests today with H&N .312 bullets. I got much better results than with Lapua bullets, but still not to my liking. I'll get a big (.314) bullet for slugging. .312 wasn't e...

Thanks for the reply! I can't really see the point practicing with ammo that doesn't hold the ten-ring. Quality training for me means to be able to call shots, not guessing. Hit tens "with some luck" isn't exactly what I'm looking for. :-) Bullet is perfecly in line with the shell. Also, L...

I agree about grouping is all that counts. I have not really tested groupings because of the not so good holes.

Non perfect holes from WC bullets is a sign of air-instabillity, ie. bad groupings. Agreed?

I have done some more testing with my newly bought chronograph, and I got some interesting results. First of all, primer brands are not the same - I tested Federal small pistol and Fiocchi. Fiocchi averages about 10-15 m/sek lower speed than Federal with the same powder load. Fiocchi also clearly sh...

I think that this is the most common problem among pistol shooters. Trigger feels like it is stuck, almost welded to the pistol. Sights are perfectly alligned and sight picture is good. Why doesn't the god damn gun fire... You put more (concious) force on the trigger almost in a desperate manner... ...

Re: record score

Lets hope we will see even better scores in Zagreb in a few weeks. :-) I couldn't agree more but, let's face it, he hasn't left a lot of room for improvement. I am still trying to come to terms with a 597 and a 594 in the same match. What hope is there for mere mortals. Indeed. But they showed that...

Re: record score

In no way am I demeaning his achievement, just wondering about the technicalities of establishing a record. I am not sure about CISM records but even if it had been shot in the individual match the ISSF would not have recognised it as a World Record. Rule 3.10.1 - World Records may be established i...

People can use whatever they want, but it floors me that people think equipment replaces good old fashioned training. I agree completly. I am certain you can shoot a mechanical trigger just as well as your electronic...if you let yourself... It's not just the electronic trigger by it self. You have...

Re: Effect on Training, No AP Recoil

Steadiness is also important, but not as important as trigger and sights. I would dispute that. Without steadiness you are more likely to snatch at the trigger when sight picture looks right. I think all 3 are of equal importantance. Steadiness probably more as a platform to perfect the other 2. He...

CISM world record - mens center fire pistol.

New military world record in mens center fire pistol is now 597p. Set in Norway this weekend. Turkish Yusuf Dikeg shot 298p (with an 8) in precision event and 299p in rapid fire event. This is an absolutly fantastic record. Anyone got more information, or perhaps even were there when it happened? ht...
