Re: Free Rifle prone event remove from the Tokio 2020 OG
And the ISSF only considers AR standing to be competition worthy. AR is standing most likely is because back when it started they were spring and SSP so had levers to crank to load. Try doing that prone! But now with the PCP rifles, air rifle prone is possible. But, beware, get AR prone going and a...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog
Just another xman rant... Well the writing is surely on the wall now in marker rather than chalk. I predict that 2020 will be the last SOG with SB and AP and AR. Only SG will remain on a very thin thread. Unless a VERY aggressive campaign of publicity, marketing and better/more spectator viewing in ...

Re: Heads Up Date change National Matches
[quote="jmdavis"]If you check steel chickens you will see a number of things over the past 6 or so months. First they come out after Nationals and claim to have signed a contract to have all of the a Nationals at Whittington for the next 5 years. When it is pointed out that attendance tend...

Re: Heads Up Date change National Matches
The smallbore community is not happy. The silhouette community is not happy. I guess it was just our turns as High Power and Bullseye to get our chance to be unhappy. Jim D. I was not aware, but not surprised that there was a problem/issue going on with the silhouette community of late. Can you rep...

Re: High Power Championships
CMP and NRA are having a food fight, that's clear. From where I stand, it looks like the NRA is backing away from all competitive shooting...and CMP is aligning more and more with the international disciplines. That'd be fine by me. At least the CMP doesn't ask me to buy gun and life insurance ever...

Re: High Power Championships
CMP, NRA, ISSF ...are becoming the new 3 stooge's. Inept and worse. Three fiefdoms in a 3way tug of war. And the competitors lose again. All fighting for their share of a dwindling pool of competitors and resources .... all self inflicted. This latest episode just illustrates how balkenized the spor...

Re: Air Venturi V10 Match Pistol vs FAS 6004?
The V10 is a Gamo compact no doubt just rebranded. My first real AP was a Gamo. It was new not used or tinkered with. I found the trigger to be be fine from my personal point of view and experience. I shot SBR and AR for 20 years prior to getting the Gamo. The rear sight had a nice adjustment featur...

Re: How to pick 10m PCP air rifle?
This is gonna get a little off topic but I tend to do that..sorry ISSF rules changes on stocks ... in search for a problem that does not exist. AKA How to keep destroying your own sports future of the sake of being self important with financial incentives. If the intent ( there is that nasty word ag...

Re: Pistol sights
Hi David, Regarding this rule: Pistol Sights. Fiber optic and reflecting color sights are prohibited. What is your opinion about whether or not this prohibits simply painting or adding colored dots to the black sights on a pistol? I suppose my concern is this perplexing part - "reflecting col...

Opps... never mind. Anybody want to buy 100 30 round mags? Just kidding. How much?, brands? calibers? include shipping? Folks in Cali might be interested as legal gun owners LOST big time there Tuesday. Not kidding Gun control was on the ballot in four states, including California, which already ha...

Re: USAS Winter Air Gun Rule Update
Grow your hair long?? Hey! thats the ticket, long hair or hairpiece, with lots of extra stiff hair gel.... sculptured in such a way to create a way to restrict being able to see to the sides. Or be distracted by motions. Now that is being fashion forward and will attract the younger set and maybe e...

Re: USAS Winter Air Gun Rule Update
Which version of rules applies to side blinders? 2017 - no side blinders allowed any more, only the 100x30 one mounted on the diopter is allowed. Hmm just thinking about the blinder rule. what if my shooting glasses/eye protection device of choice have very wide temple pieces as part of the constru...

Re: Make Shooting Great Again!
How is this as an idea..maybe it has been tried already : All finalists shoot one shot..lowest shot(s) are done. Remaining shooters shoot again, lowest shot(s) are done and so forth until one is left. Last shooter shoot 1 shot..they win. If more than one shooter keeps getting same shot values at the...

Re: Double hard point trigger?
Hmm..this is interesting. From a physics, training, mechanical design and legal (current) standpoint. I recall when I last shot my IZZY in a match where they checked weights, the EC official had me cock my SSP via the air cocking lever, he then took the pistol to where he had the weight devices, and...

Wigger vs Anderson
I was going to to ask members to compare the 2 gentlemen..shooting wise, impact, skills, career length etc. As I was researching it became clear..no comparison. It Wigger hands down. He could and did it all when it comes to rifle. SB, HP, BR, Silh. A champion in all he did. And still had a tour of V...

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary
It was posted earlier about coaches. A sights coach...HUH? A position coach..1 for each position? A tactics coach.......OK you cross fire on the third position down from you. That will rattle the other shooter for sure! Great tactic! A windage coach. Be sure to consult the sights coach and the tacti...

Marc .... you know me .... I'll always do step 1 unless I KNOW that another RO has approached them. Especially the juniors which I'm more involved with more than the "high rollers" matches. <grin> I'm also in the same agreement with Mike ... the non-verbal is going to get out of hand ... ...

16 years is being very optimistic. I give it 8 years at best. The ISSF knows it and it does not care.
