Thanks for the help. I assumed it was ok, and like you, would never have thought about it if I hadn't had to really crank on it to get it functioning. I could not be sure I had not put a divot in the plastic, when I cranked hard to get it to move.

Re: shooting glasses
You should get the 23mm. If you get the bigger lenses and try to use the lens centering device to optimize adjustment of the lens, you might find that the lens hits the nosepiece and can't be adjusted to the proper position.bugman1955 wrote:What lens for rifle prone .should I get? 23mm or 37mm.

Re: Giraud Scope Stand?
I've had one for about 7 years now. Thanks for the reply. It should help a lot. About a week ago, I got one after wanting one for about a couple of years. When I got mine, the scope elevation function was locked solid and I could not at first get the scope elevation function to raise and lower by t...

Re: cross eye dominate
Maybe you should observe how they want to hold the rifle and go with that. I am right handed, left eye dominant but have always shot left handed. Left handed was the way I first picked up a toy rifle as a kid. That is what felt natural to me. I never knew it was left handed for a long time. Holding ...

Giraud Scope Stand?
Does anyone here have a Giraud Scope Stand? I just bought one and would like to compare some of the functions on mine to another to see if what I am observing is correct function.
Thanks,
Danny

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Late 1813 and early 1913 rifles and stocks are nearly impossible to find. I have searches set on the major gun auction sites for 5 years now and have only seen a couple in that time. The early 1913's have that hinge to flip up the cheek. I have yet to see one of those for sale, stock or entire rifl...

Re: Shooting glasses prescription
Hi, I feel your pain. I always feel like I am in the same boat, but more so now. I changed doctors recently. I always had some astigmatism correction in my left shooting eye till now (with the new doctor). Their exam said that I did not need it any longer, but I suddenly noticed shooting problems. M...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Mine is a 1983, which agrees with the posts above. I may have narrowed it down further in '83, but I am now not certain. What I am not sure of is the progression to stocks with the ventilation holes in the forearm. Mine has none. I know that the stocks on 1913s with the 4760 I have seen do have the ...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Just in case anyone is looking for that Retro Anschutz Buttplate, Champions Choice has them. Quite pricey, almost $400. Not exactly the same as the original. The new one only appears to have 2 adjustment screws while the original has quite a few. http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDet...

Re: Getting 25mm Champion Lenses made in NE Ohio?
I can make lenses for you with astigmatism correction, I use Polycarbonate with AR coating. Cost is $40 for a lens. I'm in Cincinnati, but it does not need to be FTF - I have champion frames, so can assure a good fit. Typically, the lens power you are after is your distance vision, plus either +0.5...

Re: Getting 25mm Champion Lenses made in NE Ohio?
Steve Villani at Eyeglass Lens Direct made me 2 lenses for my Neostyle Champions for $35 + Shipping. The lenses were 25mm round with a simple Rx. He was knowledgeable about making lenses for shooting glasses. The website is: http://www.eyeglasslensdirect.com/ Thanks for the help. It is good to see ...

Getting 25mm Champion Lenses made in NE Ohio?
Does anyone know of an optician in NE Ohio that can grind to size lenses for my 25mm Champion Frames? I was going to use 10.9, as they had a vendor that could do it, but they dropped that vendor due to spotty delivery times. Right now, 10.9 does offer some basic lenses in 25mm, but I need astigmatis...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
The older one seems to be more popular. Popular enough that Anschutz started making it again, even; check out the Anschutz "Retro" when you have a chance. Should look fairly familiar. Interesting. Thanks for clarifying. Danny I might have to reconsider keeping it then. My only problem is ...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Are you saying that my buttplate, the one on my 1813L is popular with prone shooters, or the newer precise buttplate? Danny 1.) Is the Precise LOP shorter than the 1813? --Yes, I believe so, though I no longer have my 1813 to measure and confirm. 2.) Is there any chance that the buttplate assembly o...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
Thanks, My terminology is incorrect. I am not as familiar with smallbore rifle parts, so I struggle with the proper names. It is as frustrating for me as it is for you. I meant "buttplate" when I used "buttplate assembly". I was pretty sure that the buttplate was backward compati...

Re: Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
With that cleared up, I find that the stock is slightly long for me. I have briefly shouldered one of the 1918L Aluminum Precise Stocks at the National Matches. It SEEMS that tbe length of pull is shorter on this rifle than on mine. Shorter would probably help me. Can anyone confirm or rule that out...

The second set of holes are so you can swap the pair o...

Anschütz 1813 L buttplate question
I have an Anschütz 1813L with this type of buttplate on it. I found the picture in a Google Image Search: http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Ans-r1.JPG I have to apologize for linking to a rifle that is not mine. I believe the person that had this rifle and posted it might be one of our readers, and ne...
