More accurate?

I wonder how the higher velocity effects accuracy. This may make pellet stabilization easier to accomplish because it is spinning faster. Perhaps they are using different twist barrels, maybe not. At any rate, I have to believe that the new guns are inherently more accurate.

Hold time

Rob, The second sentence in my previous note is saying pretty much the same thing you are. Someone else's hold time is not information that can be of any benefit to me other than polite conversation. My ideal hold time is how long it takes me to stablilize...your ideal hold time is different. As som...

holding time

There is no ideal hold time. I think it just depends on how long it takes your hold to reach its most stable point. Why worry about trying to break the shot earlier or later than this? It is not so much a matter of how long to hold, but it is coordinating your trigger control with the most steady pe...

Szarenski in FP

To start off with, I do not know what it is like to break 570 with a FP. However, I have shot in the 560's many times so I can somewhat appreciate what might have been his thought process. To shoot at a 570 level, your shot execution is operating at near perfection. The shooter's mental state is bal...

Pardini SP

Before purchasing my SP last fall, I had heard that CCI would not function well, but I have not had any problems with it. I have shot CCI Standard velocity as well as some Green Tag with 100% reliability. Hope you enjoy your new purchase.

Good luck in getting an answer from them. I had the same problem and eventually gave up and moved on. However, they do have it pictured on their website. Have you talked to Scott about a Steyr? I purchased a LP10 and love it.

What you say is correct David. However, now you are relying on luck which is out of the shooters control. That is like relying on everyone else to shoot poorly. I want what I deserve, no more, no less.

pellet sizing

I guess we are wearing this subject out, but at least the discussion is civil. If I am not mistaken, the pellet diameter is based on the forward edge of the pellet. However, when sizing, only the skirt is being altered...at least this is the way my Nygord sizer works. So, the specified diameter is n...

With a 10.2 hold, a mediocre pellet may score 9.9. Unfortunately, I do not break the shot center 10 ring each time.

detonation

The detonation theory has not been proven. This theory has been brought to light in recent years primarily because of the cowboy action shooters blowing guns up. Since they typically use such low charge wts, I think most of these failures are due to multiple charges rather than too little powder. Un...

pellet testing

My testing of sized pellets agrees with yours in that I have found sizing to be of no benefit in almost all instances. Most of the time it is detrimental to accuracy. With some pellets I have found sizing to cause velocity loss to the tune of 15 to 20 fps. This might be related to lead hardness. I d...
