Re: Mod 41
That was my thought too. I was just responding to his indication that this problem was due to two different issues, in two different post topics. I just thought that was odd.

Re: Mod 41
Isabel, I have a question and a point to make. In another post here, "best 22 conversion to buy" you stated that you had trouble breaking firing pins in one of your Marvel units, and indicated that this was something that did not build confidence, leading readers to believe that there may ...

Re: TOZ 35m light hits
Be sure and do not store it with the firing pin in the cocked position. This will cause the spring to fail more quickly.

Re: Best .22 conversion to buy?
It also has a recoil buffer in it. I am not aware of the firing pin issue, but the Nelson's did tell me that their unit is dry fire safe. Is it supposed to be safe to dry fire a Marvel?

Re: Best .22 conversion to buy?
I am curious. Lots of people say the Nelson is better, or that it incorporates new design features, but what exactly are they? Exactly why is it better?

Re: Best .22 conversion to buy?
The Nelson looks to be a quality product. I had the opportunity to examine one at the SHOT Show. The Nelsons are very nice people. However, I opted for the Marvel for two reasons. First and foremost, I wanted a long slide version and Nelson does not make one. I made this choice because I wanted to s...

Re: Compensator Design
I am not trying to poo poo the idea of muzzle brakes. Nor am I trying to start an argument. I think they are interesting and they do have a positive effect on recoil. However, the most precise shooters in the world as far as sophisticated equipment goes, that being benchrest shooters, do not use the...

Re: Evolution of the Olympic pistol scores
My guess is improved drug testing has had some effect. I do not know about the shooting qualities of the Morini FP, but a friend of mine who was a very good FP shooter, had a Morini for a while and went back to his TOZ because he found it to be much more shooter friendly.

Re: LP-400's air cylinder's threads wearing off
Do not use a silicone based lube but rather use a petroleum based lube. Lithium grease is okay, high pressure bearing grease is better...the thick stuff you buy in a small tub.

Re: Air vs. Free Pistol
Both free pistol and air pistol require exactly the same skills in shot development and execution. There is absolutely no issue in transitioning from one to the other for those that train in both. World class scores in either are equally difficult to achieve. I am not sure what the actual difference...

Re: Current state of the International Pistol in US
Shooting international is also very expensive. I went to the international shooting championships a few years ago and the cost per gun was either $125 or $150...can't remember for sure. This coupled with staying in a hotel, and it gets expensive. Plus, it seems that the USA shooting bunch that runs ...

Yes, he could have gotten any gun he wanted for free, but Morini offered the best deal $$. The Morini 162 ei is an extremely capable AP, but it is an old design and the popularity of it at world level competitions has declined sharply. Unfortunately for Morini, the design and and engineering know ho...

If you have not looked at the Pardini K12, I recommend that you do.

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?
It is my belief, for the most part, that when a pistol seems unforgiving, it is most often due to the grips not fitting quite right. I had a Model 52 at one time that I used for international CF, and it did seem unforgiving...perhaps because it had been drilled into my head that is was so. If someth...

Re: Mounting a SCATT WS1 on a Pardini SP Cal. .22?
Give Vladimir a call and see what he thinks. They had one at the SHOT Show that I played with a little bit and they are a good training tool for trigger control. It was mounted on a K12. Give yourself time to get used to it and don't let the movement bother you so much. What you are after is trigger...

Re: Air Pistol Electronic vs Mechanical trigger
I do not own an electronic trigger of any sort, not that I wouldn't love to. I see the main issue as this...if you have a problem with a mechanical trigger, you can simply replace a part. If you have a problem with an electronic trigger, you probably have to replace the entire module, which I imagin...

Re: Feedback on a Pardini K12 sought....
I have owned my K12 for approximate a year and I really like this ap. It seems to me that it is a little nose heavy but that is really not a problem. I would like to try a short cylinder to see how that feels. I have done very little accuracy testing but what I have done has demonstrated it to be ve...

Re: Morini 162 muzzle flip
v76 is correct. The feeling of the pistol firing is just something you get used to. I have fired a Morini and LP10 side by side, and although the feeling of each pistol firing is somewhat different, it had no impact on scores. We have to be careful not to get wrapped up in ideas and ignore training ...

Re: New world record on 50m pistol
I was told by a high level international shooter a long time ago that it was thought that the Russian record was set with a pocket release. I was in Germany years ago and visited the Walther factory. There was a free pistol in a display case with a long wire on it with a small box with a button on t...
