Sore Elbow
Southpaw I suffer from a similar problem although not quite to the same extent as you. Summers here are in the 100 degree F range with very high humidity and wearing a shooting jacket et al is a real ordeal. I have mostly solved my problem by the following means: 1. Rubbing lanoline into the elbow e...

Ragnar Skanakar used to shoot a MC55 as does Frank Dumoulin, currently. Both have won World and Olympic Golds (I think?) with these pistols, so I guess they can't be ALL bad. I'm glad no one told them they were junk. They'd probably have a different opinion anyway from the obviously knowledgeable(?)...

Sparks I take what you say on board and I agree that the barrel/bullet combination seems to be the real problem with rimfire ammo (God knows why). I wouldn't be feeling too safe about lead projs by the way, simply because armies use them. Have a look at this little gem re a new bullet for the US Arm...

For TWP My suggestion really wasn't based on the difficulties we have here in getting decent match quality ammo. This problem will never change for us and it has nothing to do with organising things here better - but I won't get involved in that argument. The real problem with the rimfire round, as ...

Well I'll be damned. The ISSF finally LISTENED to the howls of outrage that were soming from shooters worldwide. Amazing! There's hope for the sport yet. However, I don't really trust the ISSF anymore. Possible serious changes after the 2008 Olympics? You bet! The other interesting thing is the foll...

I don't presume to know what each country's shooting laws are and it is unfortunate that reloading is not permitted in Ireland. The Australian gun laws are none too liberal either and I suspect there is a competition on between the UK and us to see which can come up with the toughest, most restricti...

Centrefire .22 for International Target Shooting
With the difficulty in producing top quality .22 rimfire ammo and the difficulty in the average shooter getting a fair range of it to test, plus the cost of the good stuff and the reluctance of some barrel makers to make .22 LR barrels, why not try to persuade the ISSF to change over to the .22 Horn...

I don't know how many time I have to say this, but since the gear currently being worn by shooters at the highest level has been passed by Equipment Inspectors appointed by the ISSF, then by definition, this gear CANNOT be in breach of rule of Rule 7.4.9 which is the overriding governing rule. There...

So what you are saying is that not only do shooters world wide have to lose the money they spent on the trousers PERMITTED by the ISSF but now because the ISSF wants to change things for APPEARANCES sake, that we will also have to get rid of our current smallbore rifle and air rifles and buy somethi...

GL Anderson Rifle Rules Proposal
Hi Kurt I have already made postiings on this issue on the ISSF Forums. I have also just now sent the following to each member of the ISSF (as if any of them are going to take any notice of me): Dear Sir In regard to the proposed ban on shooting trousers I offer the follwiing submission for your con...

Clothing and the ISSF
Actually this whole affair is quite bizarre. I note several shooters here claiming that the trousers currently used provide artificial support for the body. I dare say that those same people would say this about existing jackets as well. However this can't be true. Look at Rule 7.4.9 "7.4.9 Clo...

Firearm v Non-Firearm
Dear JPM In Australia all air rifles and air pistols are treated as firearms and you must be fully licensed to own one. They are considered to be as lethal as a .577 H&H Express double rifle. Actually the way the laws are written here, blowing a pea out of a drinking straw could probably get you...

Rapid Fire After the Olympics
For Sparky I'm sorry that you fail to understand what has happened here. I'll try to explain it simply for you. The ISSF, without consultation of its shooting membership, changed the rules for Rapid Fire in a most extraordiinary fashion. This has caused a lot of people a great deal of concern, prima...
