If I were you, I wouldn't quit shooting. If shooting firearms is too much of a hassle in your country, try shooting air pistol. Shooting AP is a lot of fun and is also very demanding, if you take it seriously (it's olympic for a reason!). Get a good match gun. If you don't want to spend a fortune, g...

Getting a new gun gives you more incentive to practice(it's fun to play with new toys)... true. It's motivating and it boosts your confidence... ...but don't expect an immediate rise in your scores. when I switched from LP65 to LP100, my scores went up from 320/400 to 340/400 (I've only been shooti...

David, maybe I'm wrong, then. I didn't find a switch or anything for putting the pistol into dry-firing mode (like on the FWB P44 or Tesro PA10), and I asked the owner, and he said that it wouldn't dry-fire. The owner was only a casual AP-shooter, so maybe he just didn't care... I'll check it next t...

In spite of the current lust for CA guns, the old FWBs (65, 80, and 90) are just as accurate. I disagree. I have shot a couple of LP65 (including my own) and they're far from a LP100 or modern pre-charged pneumatic air pistols. The trigger of the LP65 is just not up to par with modern APs. Also, th...

Re: FWB100 Maintenance

Also, do these share the same front sight inserts as the FWB65/80's and the C2/10/20's? I'd like to get some different (larger) ones for this pistol but the 100's seem rather uncommon... if they shared the same part with the 65's it would make it much easier. I have the LP65 and the LP100, and the ...

If you haven't already bought it...

I shot the LP2 last weekend, and I liked it a lot...

..but there's one big deficiency with the LP2: you can't dry-fire it. Edit: yes, you can! (see below)

therefore, even though it's a pleasure to shoot with, I wouldn't buy it.

Re: Where are all the used pistols?

FWB 100 series--used pardini etc etc. after shooting a FWB LP65 for a while, I bought a FWB LP100 (400 Euro) a month ago. It's a huge improvement, especially the trigger and the lack (well, almost) of bouncing/recoil. Maybe if you already are a good shooter, you can shoot top level scores with a FW...

If you have some time to spare in Munich, be sure to visit http://www.jagd-fischerei-museum.de/ the German Museum for Hunting and Fishing. You'll find a lot of old guns on display. And you'll learn a lot about the history and folklore of hunting in Germany http://www.deutsches-museum.de/en/exhibitio...

Thank you for your answers so far. lastman: I'm currently only doing warm-up excercises when I'm doing an extended training session. But I guess you are right about this - your joints and muscles should be smooth and warm, you should have enough blood running through your body to provide your muscle...

Dry firing

I've been lurking around this forum for a while, and well... here's my first post: Maybe I'll introduce myself first: I'm a fairly new shooter, I started about 8 months ago, mainly with a .38 revolver and a .45 pistol (M1911) who belong to a friend. Due to our gun-laws here (Germany), I'm not yet pe...
