I will ask my wife, a native speaker of German and English and a pro translator to take a look & see if she can get a good English version.

Eric,

The argument still applies, but it isn't conclusive. I do see your point. And I am not suggesting that the proposed change is a good one.

I was mostly thinking about slo-mo footage of the pellet in flight. God knows, the shooters don't move much.

Agreed, Scat or equivalent traces in the final would be interesting to shooters and maybe even the public, esp. if overlaid next to a pic of the shot going off.

Since the shooting is generally tape delay anyway, do you think it would be more exciting to watch if NBC used the kind of hyper slow motion that History Channel did with "Top Shot?" Should one wipe out the qualifying score before starting the final round? Arguments, good ones, both ways. ...

You're right. I spoke too quickly. It's obvious that the gauge glass can't hold 3000 psi pressure. Thanks.

But if it doesn't clear up, I would query the manufacturer.

I'd watch it. If it's still there in a few days, I would complain. It could indicate significant H2O in the cylinder itself.

The M-2 was issued as military hardware. Some versions were made in Canada, and I think some in Germany. Some used special model numbers and weren't exactly like their civilian counterparts.

Minox vs Leica

There was a time when I was a bit flush and fascinated by Minox. So now I own at least one each of every major variant through the LX and ECX (I don't worry about short run commemoratives; there was no new technology in those.). All bought used. And I have 3 M-series Leicas and a bunch of lenses. Ha...

I don't have the time to set up and photograph, but let me give some technical info for those who might want to do so. The eye is a simple optical system; the lens is a slightly aspheric meniscus lens with a focal length of roughly (people vary) a 15-17mm focal length and an aperture of about f/3.5 ...

Have you asked the King's College London shooting club? I think they will accept outsiders for a fee. I was going to join when I was teaching at KCL, but I just didn't have the time.

Looks cleverer than a bug. Would the unit fit nicely in a bottle for, say, 50 or 75 aspirin tabs? If it works on An FWB C20 or C22, I could be interested to try. Price will matter.

Concur with Tom. Interestingly, there's a few percent duty on air rifles, but none on air pistols!

I imported a gun from Germany in 2010.

One of the comments above asked about training for young shooters, but not teenagers, and was told AMU has nothing. OK; I understand AMU is in part a recruiting tool. But it does highlight one problem I've found with the shooting sports: There are lots of ways to get started and to get instruction, ...

I put some tire balancing weights in an empty plastic water bottle, and measured with a digital scale until I was safely (20g) above the threshold for AP. Then I tied the bottle to a length of monofilament line to loop over the trigger. I wouldn't say it's perfect, and it's certainly ugly, but it do...

David,

Because British TV stations and other media often are confusing, as are American sources: When you write GMT, do you truly mean Greenwich Mean Time, or do you mean whatever time it happens to be in London, summer or winter?

About the 570 question, if we divide Olympic Pistol between two parts, you will be able to read more in competitive Olympic pistol and post as much as you want in recreational Olympic pistol, or discuss technical issues with your arms. In simpler words, I should just go away and let the big boys ch...
