I have transferred a quite a number of the RRA ARs since the ban scare started.. Their delivery time has always been much less than the quote..PLus, they are great people to deal with.
I have not transferred a 1911 since they discontinued production.

Re: Dvorak 22lr conversion

can they hold under an inch at 50 yards from a ransom rest? When it comes to conversions, most use a stationary barrel, so it comes down to the capability of the barrel.. I have changed out more than one from every make of conversion, that did not shoot to expectation. I think the KART is the best ...

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

Cutting chamber samples today.. Here's what I have been referring to.. The slug on the right is from a Shilen .357 dia. 8 lands and grooves bore..The slug on the left is from a factory model #52 .355 dia. 5 lands and grooves bore. The slug is a Star .357 diameter HBWC. The distortion is very evident...

Jerry, that is some fantastic work. Most folks can't fathom just how hard that is. One slight mistake and hours of work are scrap. I have no doubt in your abililities after watching your posts over the years. Just fantastic. Thank you Greg.. I just got back from Jamestown, NY.. All I can say is, &q...

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

Jerry, What are your plans for the bushing and will your new barrel have the dog knot like the S&W, where the barrel fits in the bushing? I'm guessing you haven't finished the front of the barrel shown. Stephen Stephen In the post above with the full 52 picture, you can see a little bit of the ...

Re: Real world accuracy tests-Volquartsen barrels vs stock

------------------------ Did any shooters have barrels made or deliberately look for under-diameter barrels for this reason? Did Pardini for example or any of the production guns run small in their bore? Tight bores are an old myth that is dying hard. S&W 41's have bores in the .214 range quite...

Re: Real world accuracy tests-Volquartsen barrels vs stock

Jack Weigand makes very high quality mounts.. I have installed a ton of them.. Excellent drill and tap mounts.. Machined to fit factory screw hole centers.
Google will take you to his site..

David Sams style frame mount...
But as Isabel points out, it is "possible", marginally so, to slide mount.. With the new Aimpoint Micro, it is probably easier than it has been to get proper cycling and function..

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

Mid range factory ammo is 710 fps. or 8520 inches per sec.. The rifled section of a factory 52 barrel is less than 4 inches. The factory barrel is 18.75 twist. At that speed, twist, and rpm the long 148 HBWC is really never stable in imo. The land to groove ratio is 1:1, 5 lands/5grooves each approx...

Re: Which bulletdiameter?

I have done a large number of the short cylinders, and also bushed the cylinder with bronze in .38s.. 38 allows very little area to install the bushings, let alone a bearing system.. The 32 may have more room, I don't know. At any rate, I would like to see a picture of the ball bearing system.. The ...

I did get a kick out of the other replies. The great shooters all choose Pardini or FWB or .... Really? Define that. A Ruger Mk I is good enough for several national champions. It is neither the arrow nor the bow, but the archer that makes the great shot. Well, Dan... Since this appears to be direc...
