Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

Have you looked at the other topic for the rules? Look at the "Coaching" section. They must have come up with some of these after they started hitting the hard stuff at their meetings. Yes, I read that and so why not just get rid of the coaching rule all together. I can come up with hand ...

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

The point is that MANY of our junior shooters here use rifles that do not conform. Some will be selected in December to to World level events ... Some will be selected in April to events in Suhl only 3 weeks later .... Ginny is one who came into the game with pretty good equipment. Many of our othe...

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

This 140 stock depth is stupidly rediculous, so some think it does not matter because there were few wood stocks in world events, but many national bodies run all their events rigidly to ISSF rules, the UK is one of them. The stock dimensions have operated quite hapily for 70 years, and now some idi...

Re: Walther 500

Modern match electronic triggers are superb, the advantage is there is no mechanical force or movement required to break a sear as in a mechanical, there is also no release of weight as in a mechanical. The current Walther version which at the moment is only available in the LG400 air rifle is simpl...

Hmmmm? Its the man not the sling that gets the results!

I remember the late great Malcolm Cooper doing a TV interview in his shooting kit, he had rushed to do up the buttons on his jacket and had them crossed, one out, quite a few people shot with buttons crossed for a while after that!

700 trigger

Yes it is screw 14, they say to get it on let off point (ie it will not cock) and then go back 10 degree's, thats a safe setting but I find this can produce a creepy trigger. I do it by feel and the slightest adjustment back until the trigger will set safely and has no creep. It can be fidly and can...

Cleaning

I clean our jackets with warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush, canvas and leather, get the canvas well wet and scrub and sponge off the excess water and the dirt. Then hang up to dry naturaly.
The bonus is that it re stiffens the canvas back to original.
Good Shooting

Set up

David You are a few hours drive from some of the best coaching in Europe, MEC in Dortmund. They are very helpfull, most speak good English, and I'm sure with a phone call you could arrange a time and day for a visit, they would both help you set up the rifle as well as help you with any other aspect...

Actions

My wife uses a shorty KK300 with a light barrel built by Sven Martini at Walther, but she drops the butt to load as its still too far to load without the risk of damaging the bullet. Few of the manufacturers drift far from the "standard" bolt action but of course Ulrich will be aware that ...

Walther

Walther front sight dovetails are smaller than others so you need either an original Walther front sight tunnel or an aftermarket one made for a Walther, Centra make ones to fit Walthers.
Good luck

Or use metal elements, no perspex, acrylic, or glass to obstruct the view, no reflection off the glass, simple, cheap.
I'm told the boat sank.

Problem

Shawn I see so many undiagnosed problems end up on the forums and even more theories emerge and contacting the dealer or agent is often not very productive either as they often think what its going to cost them rather than a will to sort it. My advice is simple, work out your international times and...

Sights

We do a lot of "Dewer" matches, 50 mts and 100 yds, here in the UK, the rise on standard sights such as Walther or Anschutz is around 50 clicks, if you have double click sights it will be double. Obviously there are variations but 50 clicks will get you in the 9 ring.
Good shooting

Old and new Anschutz Front tunnels

You've already been told that the dovetails have changed, BUT, the profile is close enough to fit properly on the new dovetail if you file or grind down the base of the dovetail on the old foresight so it is not so deep, it will then be wide enough to fit. I know as I have just done so on a new Ansc...

jackets

You don't need starch and it could be risky on EC stiffness. The act of simply cleaning a jacket (or trousers) with soapy water on a scrubbing brush or sponge and then hanging up to dry naturaly both gets the canvas clean and fresh, and stiffens it as well back to an almost as new level whilst still...

Differences, Stock smaller (suits ladies) barrel length and muzzle weight shorter, cylinder made of alloy and is shorter and lighter. Overal weight about 3.5 kg's. Still listed but quite difficult to get, suspect it will be phased out at some time as all the advantages are possible to replicate with...

Re: Discontinued?

I've got a new LP10E and it does sometimes follow up the shot with a second trigger click, but as it's a single shot pistol this doesn't cause any problems. I've had my LP10e for a few months now and have had a couple of "double" shots. Each time it happened was when I executed poor trigg...
