I agree with having a reputable gunsmith fit a quality lower frame to your .22 conversion. I had my conversion built exactly as my hardball gun by the same gunsmith (K.C. Crawford). Not only is the Marvel 22/45 a valuable training pistol to help me with my hardball EIC training, it is an extremely a...

Recoil buffers?

I am curious what our experienced bullseye/ EIC competitors think about the use/necessity of recoil buffers in the .45 service pistol? Thanks.

I only use Starline and WW brass. I have found them to be the most durable and less prone to any reloading issues or feeding problems.

I don't think I am, but not sure. I set the die up according to the instructions and reloading manuals. Is there a standard measurement I should be achieving after belling the case?

.45 ACP reloading question

For those experienced reloaders out there; I am a newbie reloader and I use a redding carbide expander die. When I measure the brass after the expander die process, it's width is averaging only .470 at the neck. The bullets just barely fit on the neck after expansion. Am I doing something wrong? I r...

The S&W 22A is more of a decent "plinker" if you will, and is generally not considered a bullseye-quality pistol. I agree with the others comments. If you use a backup pistol, you should use a pistol that you are familiar with that will minimize mid-match adjustments should you have a ...

.45 ACP primer pockets

Can any experienced reloaders out there tell me if you use a primer pocket uniformer on your brass at any point during the reloading process? I am a newby .45 ACP reloader and would appreciate your insight. Thanks!

Thanks William; I think you might have hit the nail on the head. The target paper is being torn. I do shoot into a pellet trap that I lined with electricians putty. It looks like the pellets are striking the putty as they should. Maybe I will invest in some new targets. I use the B40 targets, but ma...

It is a .177 caliber Beeman P1 (new). The gun is very accurate, and I have not been able to shoot at 10 meters yet. The keyholing occurs at the 21 ft area (my max distance indoors).

.177 pellet keyhole on target

Can anyone tell me why a .177 pellet (Match grade wadcutter) is keyholing on the target at 21' but when I move up to 16' the pellet does not keyhole on the target. I shoot in my basement where the maximum distance I can fire is 21'. I shoot a new Beeman P1 on max power with about 500 rounds of wadcu...
