The AUG does not have anything mounted to the side. The A1 housing group has the 1.5x Swarovski optic mounted centrally and the A3 housing has a 1913 rail, again mounted centrally, with a small forward rail on the right hand side for accessories. Again, nothing offset to the left whatsoever.

Try bring in the trigger hand elbow slightly, along with loosening the sling a bit. If needs be, try move the handstop forward or backwards until it settles fully and you just have easy, natural and vertical movement.

My own rifle, and most of the others I'm around a lot of the time, do not require fouling shots after cleaning. Mine is cleaned every time it's shot and shot one afterwards goes into the same pile as shots 2-100.
