Re: Walther KK300 Anatomic Question
Tim S is definitely correct. We had a 1907 in our club that came with a pretty uninspiring test target. However, when tested with Eley, while it didn't shoot a lot of batches very well, it did have one that was an absolute screamer. Best rifle of a group that included Bleikers and other rifles with ...

Re: cleaning
I found the bulk of the solid deposits, if you used solvent first, dissolved (predictably) and the cleaning process took longer, with more felts or patches, and was more gradual, harder to see when you were done. My method is as follows: -One or two dry patches to push out the solid deposits. -Bronz...

Re: ISSF World Cup Prone - Clapping during Final Shots
To be honest I hate it on a spectator's level. Was at the European Championships this year in Maribor and some clown was blowing a horn of some kind for all he was worth. I just wanted to force feed him it. Makes the finals hall thoroughly obnoxious. Yes, now we have to train for it, but man, I hate...

Re: Weight rod and smallbore balance in prone
I was speaking to Heinrich Bleiker last week and he was describing how people are coming looking for lighter rifles these days and want to take the nose heaviness out of them. His light stocks are in response to that (While the Lady models cater directly to women and are proportionately scaled down)...

Re: TargetScan app for Android
Can the app score groups? For example, on six-bull 50m targets, could it score the five shot groups?

Re: 300 m standard - good first rifle
The AUG does not have anything mounted to the side. The A1 housing group has the 1.5x Swarovski optic mounted centrally and the A3 housing has a 1913 rail, again mounted centrally, with a small forward rail on the right hand side for accessories. Again, nothing offset to the left whatsoever.

Re: ISSF World Cup @ FT Benning
Seems to be a huge number of athletes DSQ for post match equipment checks. Ten in men's prone across three eliminations and the qualification. Four in men's air and one in women's air. There must be something specific that's catching people.

Re: Sling suggestions..........
Another issue with the MEC sling is that the adjustment wheel on the threaded rod isn't held particularly securely. The rod has a tendency to pull straight through and dump the front half of the sling on the ground, sending wheels and springs bouncing for the darkest corners of the range. Also, most...

Buttplate Pressure/Sling Tension and Effect on Hold
I've been working with a SCATT recently and it's been revealing some pretty disturbing things. In prone, my hold is quite big, moves quite quickly and is somewhat erratic, with a large, regular pulse which leaves the ten ring by several millimetres. Now, obviously, I'd like to shrink that hold, lose...

Sling Selection
I'm currently thinking of changing my sling. I've been using one of the MEC/Centra ones for a few years. Currently on my second in fact as it's been replaced before, but the replacement has been beset by precisely the same problems as the original, in that the grub screw which goes through one of th...

For me, when I had a similar problem, relaxing in position was pushing the rifle in that direction as my shoulder settled forward. Bringing in the elbow supports the shoulder a little more directly. It shouldn't slump forward at all. Similarly, I had to loosen my sling a little because it was pullin...

Out of curiosity, for those with the lightweight barrels, how well do they perform when testing ammunition? It's a very limited sample size, but the 1907s I've seen tested have broadly not performed as well as the 1913s. Now, this may not be indicative of a trend, so I'd be curious to see whether ot...

I have a reasonable amount of weight on my trigger hand elbow. I've even moved it in slightly recently, putting more weight on it, and have found the results are better. It's crucial that the shoulder can remain relaxed and supported by the elbow, but the forearm must be free and relaxed as well, in...
