I'm not quite sure what your point actually is, but a couple of things. Gymnastics does have finals for individual events. There's no benefit to easing off during competition regardless of what type of final you have. Personally, I love finals. I get bored shooting qualification matches, especially ...

Guess I'm just lucky, but after nearly 20 years of shooting, quite a bit, the worst injury I've had was a bit of stiffness in my neck after shooting for about 6 hours. I've seen a lot of people suffer quite significant injuries in their elbows and shoulders, most of whom never really seem to fully r...

The development of youth in the US is growing. In Air There are 4 kids off of the top of my head under 20 that i know of in the US that are capable of shooting over a 570 in air. I myself am one of those 4. I am 19 and hope to make the jr development team this upcoming year and i am here to tell yo...

Hi Roy, Welcome. Trigger press is a very individual thing. Some people like to develop their press quite quickly and others do it more slowly. Me personally I like to start pressing once I am in the aiming area and continue pressing until after the shot has broken. In all about 4 seconds. What I wou...

Maybe this is just my personal choice, counter against most people...the lighter the trigger, the more comfortable I feel. It has something to do with the fact that I am an organist and harpsichordist, which means I play these instruments' keyboard purely by touch. You are talking about the resista...

Hi Todd, As a new shooter, you will find that "Tip of the day" complex is common. It's because you are thinking specifically about something and it stops you fretting about other things. Don't worry too much about it. As for your grip. It's such a personal thing and what works for me may n...

Hi Brakarzac. Be weary of any mounts you do get for and SP20. I'm not sure of where to get one. I tried having one made up a couple of years ago, but it was very difficult. Reason being is the way the trigger unit is held by a pin onto the frame of the pistol. It provides a lateral movement which ma...

If your looking for something to go into a collection. A good condition 102 would be my bet. If your looking from a statistical point of view the 150 was probably the best FP Hammerli ever made. It's also still a great FP. I thought the current FP60 was mostly made in Germany with only the barrel be...

1 problem I always found with using a box that doubles as a scope stand is that it was common to go to ranges where the benches could not accommodate the box.

I find a lightweight and compact scope and stand to be the most effective way.

Good luck

Personally, my FP60 is the best FP that I have ever shot. I've had mine for nearly 2 years and it hasn't had a single problem, not even a misfire. I do believe that this is not a FP for everyone, in fact I believe unless you are a serious FP shooter you should look at something else. The very long b...

There's 2 sides to your problem The 1st is a physical issue: The blast wave can knock you around and be distracting. You can deal with it 2 ways. Figure out a time when not too many other shooters will be on the range and schedule your training then. Or you can learn to deal with it. It's a distract...

My 150 use to love the old version of Pistol King. It's a shame that the new version is more like Pistol Queen.

I tended to find that it like pretty much any of the Lapua/SK brands.

It was a bit fussy about some Eley. But Pistol Match worked quite well.

Good luck

I wasn't convinced about them when I first order mine for my FP60. But I've had it on my gun for over a year now and think it's great. You need to spend a bit of time going through the different dimensions and make sure you get the right measurements. Once that's done correctly you should have no tr...

Re: call the shots

I remain unconvinced that “calling the shots” is helpful. My rational is that the ability to “know” where the shot >happened<, is only a reinforcement of negative thinking. The shot is done, your focus needs to be on only the current shot, without thinking or worrying about what or where the last s...

Don't forget excercises for the core muscles to enable you to stand still. This is so true. But one question I'd ask is, are you trying to improve your hold or your stability? Realistically anyone who averages 540 or better can hold the 9 ring comfortably. But with increased stability, the percepti...

I am an advocate of the firm (and by firm, I mean really firm) pressure group. Although not for a novice shooter. When I hold my AP with fairly firm grip tension my group shrinks to about the size of the 10 ring. If it's more loose, it will be about a 9.5 ring hold. With a firm grip I have the belie...
