PCP Pistol Comparison
A friend passed recently and his widow is offering me first choice to purchase one of the following: Steyr Sport Walther LP 400 Pardini K12 Feinwerkbau P44 I already own a Morini 162 EI and like it a lot. Is there anything I should consider in choosing one over the others? I've shot all of them and ...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?
I shoot both a S&W Model 41 and a Ruger MK IV. When I first started shooting I had some problems with the Mdl 41 including some failure to go into battery and some failure to extract. I started putting a TINY drop of Break Free CLP on the top round of each magazine and have had no problems since...

Re: freETarget
I briefly reviewed the website and gained the impression that this device and its software are still in the beta testing phase. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm very interested in purchasing the electronics board and sensors. I THINK I can make a back stop myself, and download the software to my ...

Re: spotting scope question
I use a Kowa TSN-611 with 50mm objective lens and 20x long eye relief eye piece and I have no problem seeing .22 holes at 50 yards. The scope I used previously was a very inexpensive Bushnell. It had LOTS of chromatic abberration and the image was very dim. I always had problems seeing the .22 holes...

Re: FWB P30 problem
Thanks Dr. Don, but I have played with all screws to no avail... trigger slack and trigger stop screws didn't make any difference. Stavros I'm no gunsmith, but "...played with all the screws..." sound like it could be a possible recipe for disaster. Unless one is meticulous about changing...

Re: Patched vs. two eyes
So here's a question from a left eye dominant right handed/eye shooter. When I started trap shooting after retirement in 2011 I tried shooting with two eyes. It worked a little bit, but required intense concentration and even then, my dominant left eye would "take over" in pointing the gun...

Re: Patched vs. two eyes
No, but why pay $12 for it when a short piece of Scotch Magic Transparent tape accomplishes the same result?

Re: Inband Air electronic target review
OK, so I'm a real tyro when it comes to electronic targets. Am I to understand that a backing roll is "required" to make this system work properly?
What about other systems? Do they also need paper backing to work?

Re: Buying Scoring Aids
If you call Champions Choice and place your order by phone they will ship small items by priority mail if you ask at a much lower cost. Scott Thanks for the input from everyone, especially from Scott. It never occurred to me to actually "call" them. Too much internet for me lately, I gues...

Buying Scoring Aids
I did a quick search here regarding "scoring aids" aka gauges, plugs, overlays, etc. Once upon a time I had all of these in my kit but they have somehow gone missing, so I need to replace them. I'm looking for plugs in .22, .32, and .45 as well as a set of overlays. These are available on ...

Re: Aeron Brno B96
Searching the board for past entries for the TAU 7 (which seems to share design principles with the B96) I found the following from about a year ago: "TAU 7 valve & spring issues / trouble-shooting help". The poster had problems very similar to yours and a thorough fix, including seve...

Re: Aeron Brno B96
It is sad that we can no longer find resources for these pistols Dennis. What is the main issue with your pistol..? My problems began with a leak that would drain a cylinder over night while attached to the pistol. Both cylinders maintained pressure when NOT on the pistol so I presume the pistol it...

I would look closer to home Dennis. I wouldn't risk shipping back and forth to the UK with something that is somewhat irreplaceable.. I appreciate your concern. I've already tried to contact pretty much everyone I can think of, both near and far, without success. Airguns of Arizona, Pilkguns (our h...

Do you know if there are any special procedures I should follow when shipping my airgun to the UK? ...

Went to a Scotch tasting at a Scottish Festival in Orange County, CA where they had some VERY high end samples. In every case, a small bit of water was mixed with the scotch. The experts claimed it reduced the alcohol burn and "opened up" the other flavors. I tend to agree. Dennis, aka Dul...

Re: Considering my first PCP pistol
I am 73 and use a SCUBA tank. Fills are cheap, but remember that one also must periodically have a hydrostatic pressure check done on the cylinder (every 5 years?) to ensure they are still sound. As stated above, one SCUBA tank fill lasts quite some time.

Re: Newbie: How to zero in my Morini 162EI
To zero the gun you need to use a vise, clamp, etc, or sand bags off a rest. Unlike "normal" shooting, pick a well defined point on the target. For example, align the top of the front sight precisely with the center bottom of the black bullseye, then release the shot without disturbing tha...

Re: Bullseye rules--Optics question
There was a time when only iron sights were permitted. Quite some time ago (several decades?) the NRA changed the rules to permit optical sights. I cannot remember when that happened but I'd say at least three decades, maybe longer. There has never been a separate class for optical sights and previo...
