Re: S&W Model 41 Rear Sight Variants
I, too, cut the tang off my long barrel when I had a scope base mounted. I also cut the base off and filed everything flush with the barrel. It fixed those hard to clear stove-pipes. My heart-felt suggestion to you is to say screw it, file out the notch, and move on. This has just become silly. I c...

Re: S&W Model 41 Rear Sight Variants
Hey Dennis: there were a number of rear sights used on the SW 41, they had the standard sight which is what I believe you have, then they had a match target sight which is bigger and provided more positive and repeatable adjustments, and then they had a "revolver" style sight which used t...

Re: S&W Model 41 Rear Sight Variants
Greetings, The sight illustrated was used on the Model 52 and Model 41 5.5" Heavy Barrel. They are no longer made. Use caution modifying your sight as replacement parts are difficult to source. Also, changing out the rear blade involves replacing the windage nut and screw. Cheers, Dave Thanks,...

Re: S&W Model 41 Rear Sight Variants
It appears you are showing the sight from the short barrel (for Intl). Just order the one for that barrel. The sight for the long (7 1/2") barrel is completely different. Or just say screw it and hog out the rear sight because it just doesn't matter. BTW I like to use a 3/16" chain saw fi...

S&W Model 41 Rear Sight Variants
I have a S&W Model 41, SN TAD81xx. I've read that S&W used a number of different rear sight variations but I have been unable to find information that will help me identify which rear sight I have. I'm asking because the rear sight notch is too narrow for my old eyes and I'd like to find ano...

I took a look at their website and saw no pricing information so I clicked on "order" and here's what popped up.

Mr. Levine lives on in our memories and in the good scores made by those whom he mentored. He will be missed.

Re: Kurger targets are no longer accepted by the NRA
Krugers website still lists NRA as a shooting association that uses Kruger targets. Re: Range lighting (differences)?
I've shot at some ranges where I've definitely wondered about that option. I think you actually want two lights, a bright one to shine on your sights, and a dimmer one to shine on your eyes to control your pupil size. You can also use an adjustable aperture to get the same effect, so it's mostly ab...

Re: Recommended Bullseye Pistol for intermediate pistol shooter?
I would suggest a Ruger MK IV instead of the MK III simply because it is easier to reassemble after cleaning. In most cases you will need some gunsmithing done on almost any .45 by a good gunsmith. Most box stock .45s wont be accurate enough from the factory to be really competitive. Similarly, the ...

If you are trying to sell such an item it is best listed in the "sale-trade" section.

Re: Skeet vs Trap shooting - differences and guns
Here's a short video that provides a very brief overview of trap shooting. Although you cannot see the clays, note that all of them are rising and going away. The elevation at which they are thrown is the same every time. The azimuth angle at which they are thrown is random because the trap machine ...

Re: freETarget
I have the electronics and I've downloaded all of the various files. I was particularly enthused about 3D printing the target face with sensor mounts because that seemed the best way to ensure their accurate location. As part of my 3D research I contacted Andrew Berryhill whom you've probably read a...

Re: freETarget
Thanks for the lead, Azmodan. The price of the printer you mention is about $4300, so I won't be buying one any time soon. The whole idea of freETarget is to get a decent electronic scorer for significantly less money than a similar commercial item, so buying such a printer seems self defeating. I w...

Re: freETarget
Just received my first set of supplies for the feETarget too. I have a 3d printer too and its definitely too small for the target holder. So I will build a prototype out of wood instead. I may end up going that route, but I'll continue to research the 3D printing for a bit. I posted on the freETarg...

Re: freETarget
I just received my circuit cards and I am now trying to find someone to 3D print the target face. The face measures 300 mm x 380 mm (11.8" x 14.9") and thus significantly larger than an average 3D printer can handle. I tried shapeways.com, an on line 3D printing service, but their estimati...
