Re: Iron sights/ rulebook query
So some time ago there was a similar post in which the poster had 3D printed a front sight with a tiny (1mm?) tunnel near the top of the sight post. The OP asked if this was legal per ISSF rules, but no concrete answer was forthcoming. So I'll ask again. A hole, or tunnel, in the front sight is not,...

Re: There is always a first time.
Not good but try this. While primarily a pistol shooter I also shoot trap on Sundays after church with the same group of guys. It's probably more a social event than it is a shooting event. I reload for everything I shoot and have, upon occasion, dumped a partial bottle of either #8 shot or some kin...

It's a joke. You don't have to run faster than the bear, just faster than your friend.

Re: Best pistol for 10m International AP?
All the above mentioned pistols are inherently one-hole-accurate. The final choice comes down to personal preference based upon the relationship between the pistol's ergonomics and YOUR hand. Item 5 above is the best possible advice. Shoot as many different pistols as you can and then decide which o...

S&W Model 41 Grip Screws
Does anyone know the size of the standard Model 41 grip screws, and a source for buying a set?

There is actually another one for sale here on TargetTalk.org at the following link. There are no pictures, but I've seen the gun and it's pristine. The price seems good to me too. https://targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?t=65522 I know the seller personally and he's a straight-up guy. Dennis, aka Dulcm...

If the law is put into effect, what happens when the original owner passes on? Since "transfers" are forbidden, the next of kin cannot inherit. Does the government get the guns? What about compensation?

Re: What gun do you most regret parting with?
For me it was a Whitney Wolverine that I sold to buy a Ruger Mk I with a factory muzzle brake. I later disposed of that gun as well although I cannot remember the circumstances. These memories prevented me from selling my Ruger Mk III at our most recent club swap meet, even though I hardly every sho...

Re: Who makes a nice pellet shaker box?
I have one but don't know from whom I bought it or what brand it is. As stated above, the springs eventually wear out and do not lift the pellets enough to easily pick them out of the box. I have disassembled the box more than once, stretched the springs, and reassembled the parts, after which it wo...

Re: What makes a AP "kick"?
If I figured it correctly the pellet leaves the barrel in about 18 milliseconds, so there will be SOME barrel rise in the time, but not much.

I bought Morini grips from Neil Stepp and like them. As with most such grips, some work is needed to ensure a good fit.

Re: Demand for B96 Magazines
I would be up for 3 or 4 depending on price. More important for me, do you know of anyone who works on and can source parts for AERON pistols? Same general question for me. I have the Aeron B98 (PCP version) and it needs some love. The cylinders slow-leaked when attached to the gun so I attempted a...

Re: Front post vs rear notch size?
I have 10 meters in my garage and I shoot a Morini 162ei. Your circumstances may vary. My pistol's front sight is 5mm wide and looks like it is about as wide as a standard 10 meter AP bullseye. I have other front sights but this one seems to work for me. My Morini has three positions into which the ...

Re: Front post vs rear notch size?
I've been told that the front sight and the black bullseye should appear to be the same width when you take aim. If that width post (whatever it is) gives you too little light on each side of the rear sight notch, widen the rear sight. My Morini 162ei has an adjustment for this. If your gun does not...

Re: How do I make friends at the range?
When you and another take a break, ask about their equipment. What kind of pistol is that? What caliber? What ammo do you use? Is it accurate? How's the trigger on that thing? And so on. Most shooters are willing to give advice if asked. Just remember that the advice is an opinion, worthy of conside...

Re: Recommendations of gunsmith for 1911 in SF bay area?
The trigger pull weight you mention is too light to be legal in competition as far as I know. If you want a carry gun (in SF?) that's also too light IMHO. Were you to be involved in a self-defense shooting with such a light trigger a prosecutor could easily make a case that you were at least partial...
