Re: Bullseye rules--Optics question
In addition to Rover's answer, sights that project something onto the target (read lasers) are not permitted. Traditional glass scopes, with or without magnification are also permitted but seldom used as red dots predominate. Finally, in CMP Excellence in Competition (EIC) matches, the rules are muc...

Re: Dry-fire device for .22 rimfire
Don't know what gun you are using, but if you shoot a S&W Model 41, take a look at this dry fire block.

Re: Best Front Sight Width for NRA Precision
My quick and dirty rear sight fix is: at a hardware store, buy a round 3/16" chainsaw file. Cut the notch with it, angling the file to the right and left so that you can't "see" the sides of the notch. It will make a "cleaner" sight picture. The whole thing will take about ...

Best Front Sight Width for NRA Precision
I've been shooting Ultra-Dot sights on both my .45 and S&W Model 41 for a VERY LONG time, but recently shot a service pistol match for the first time and observed a .22 EIC match. At 73 years old my eyes are not what they once were and I find that the sight picture with iron sights for both guns...

Re: A glass of wine
Well, I cannot say that wine (dry reds) make me shoot better. However, a glass of wine after a particularly poor session DOES does seem to help me deal with my poor performance. FWIE.

Re: Depth of Rear Sight Notch
Then change the width of the foresight. If I remember there are four widths . Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I understand that many current APs have rear sight notches with adjustable WIDTHS. I also understand that front sights with various WIDTHS are available for purchase. My question is abo...

Re: Depth of Rear Sight Notch
Depending on foresight width, light level, sight radius. I adjust the depth of the rear sight so if forms a image as a square. The eye likes symmetry. sight picture 70%.jpg OK, call me a dummy, but my Morini 162ei rear sight WIDTH is adjustable, but not its depth, to the best of my knowledge. Am I ...

Re: Love this quote
Thanks for these wise words, Rover. As always, our founding fathers seem to be almost divinely inspired. Never before in history, or since, for that matter, has such an assemblage of wise men gathered together at one time and in one place. Our country is truly blessed to have been founded by such se...

Re: Why I love it here!
Finally, a common sense and practical solution to the problem of mass school shootings. Congratulations to the school board. You may have noticed a couple of common threads in the mass shooting scenarios of the past. First, the shooters are always nut cases who should have been prohibited from ownin...

Re: S&W Model 41 Trigger Weight
Isn't it more accurate to hang weight vertically off the trigger? I find this works well with my Model 41 and other handguns. I cut a length of coat hanger wire, bent to hang off the trigger without sliding around, and long enough to hang something off the ends to hold the weight. Then add weight g...

It's a "Common Access Card" and is issued to government employees, both military and civilians, as a tool to access computer systems, etc.

Re: S&W Model 41 Trigger Weight
The inexpensive testers that are on the market almost never give you tbe same weight horizontally as an NRA vertical weight set. There are impulse issues with tbem. I know my P44 is on because I set it with a weight. After setting it to pass 500 grams, my electronic gauge will not repeat that value...

Re: S&W Model 41 Trigger Weight
before opening the pistol up, why not get an "expensive spring tester" or at least find someone else who has a trigger weight tester, to confirm the weight. even at some of the tournaments, the trigger weight testing equipment comes up with variances. Perhaps I should have been more preci...

Re: S&W Model 41 Trigger Weight
replace the trigger return spring.. it sits under the adjustment bar and applied pressure to it.. Thanks for the advice. I'll take a look at the exploded view again. When I look at the innards through the frame with the grips removed it looks a bit intimidating. I'll have to study it some before di...

S&W Model 41 Trigger Weight
I acquired an older S&W Model 41 and it has a GREAT trigger. So great, in fact, that it's not legal for NRA Precision. It breaks cleanly at 1 3/4 pounds as measured by my inexpensive spring tester. I've already adjusted the trigger pull adjustment lever as far to the rear as possible to get this...

Wowie Zowie. I'm sure Rover will be first in line for one of these. BTW, I noticed that they are using an Aeron B98 for demo purposes. I own one of these and it needs work. Does anyone know of someone who can service mine?

Just a comment: In nearly 30 years of marriage, my wife has NEVER failed to encourage me in whatever activity I have chosen to pursue. New guns, musical instruments, vehicles, etc. She has always said "Go for it!" I could not have chosen a better woman.

Re: What is exceptable in a new Morini 162El ?
If you filled the cylinders and screwed them on right away, they would probably drop 20BAR just from cooling. +1 for Rover's comment. My tanks are dated "3.10" and nearing the end of their service life but still do not leak. I fill them from a carbon fiber tank and do so very slowly. Neve...
