Re: Crosman Challenger CH2021 Windage Problem

at about 2 1/2 minutes in on this video listed below the guy shows how to adjust the front sight holder to account for the windage issue. This is what i've done to our guns that ran out of windage and it's taken care of the issue. https://youtu.be/d2PYgW4rS3Q?si=c1vTXwbu8zDg85Cj Thank you, i'll giv...

Crosman Challenger CH2021 Windage Problem

I have one of these that doesn't have enough windage in the rear sight to center up on target. We've traced the error to the barrel not being timed correctly, so that the flat on the barrel doesn't allow the barrel weight to sit in alignment with the rear sight. It's out past the 1 ring @3:00 with t...

Re: Dry Firing Crosman Challenger, T200

My team dry fires both all the time on a SCATT system. Not saying it won't do damage, but so far after 2+ years I haven't noticed anything.

Problem with SCATT being Off-Call

Had 2 SCATTs out for Jr shooters to practice on and I couldn't get them to stay on-call. Both of them absolutely worthless. I'd shoot, adjust the impact closer to call, shoot again, and it would be off target. One was a USB and the other a wireless. Both sensors were mounted straight and tight. None...

Calibration & sighting shots are the perfect opportunity to force you to work on shot call. Shoot them from position!

I've shot on those and they would be too cumbersome for indoor air.
ETA: I've shot on the HP targets. Do they have indoor targets they haul around too?

Portable Electronic Ranges

Portable Electronic Range technology has been growing so fast lately that I can't keep up with it. Right now, my club has to haul all our gear into our venue and remove all of it when we are done. We are using a Creedmoor portable range. Is there an electronic solution out there that would fit this ...

Re: Sub-junior air rifle program

I would start the younger ones on Daisy AVANTI Champion Model 499 BB guns. I wouldn't move them up to air rifles until they are 12 or 13, but that depends upon how they can handle the air rifles. The 12 year olds that have tried Sporter Air in my club have given up quickly, but that might have been ...

I Will Sponsor a New Sporter Air Team

Actually, my 4-H club will. We will supply a new club with Daisy 887 rifles & parts, including a CO2 fill adapter. All that we require is that you be part of a funded 501C3 junior program such as 4H, Boy Scouts, etc, have an indoor venue in which to shoot, someone willing to coach/run the team a...

Avanti 887/888 Troubleshooting

One of my club's Avantis is malfunctioning - the bolt will not close.
Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Just FYI kids that age are not going to do well with the CZ T200 or 10 meters.

The BB gun is the right gun for that age.

I tell them to give me at least 1 hour a day, 5 days a week. I take a survey every meeting. Never get more than a half-hearted-kinda-practiced-maybe-sorta.

Any motivational ideas?

Re: Jr ROTC Rules the Camp Perry Open Sporter Class

My sons' JROTC teams shoot a 3x10 or 3x20 about three or four times a week. They are probably one of the top ten Navy ROTC teams with a field of almost 3000 shooters. Some of the members on the top all-service teams that I've talked to shoot two or three times per day, six days a week. Just what I ...

Jr ROTC Rules the Camp Perry Open Sporter Class

I did not get to go to Perry myself for the Open, but my club sent a few shooters. Looking at the results, I see that the Jr ROTC teams really ruled the Sporter match. I have some kids that have shot for 4 years now and aren't anywhere near those ROTC shooters. What's the ROTC secret? Do they meet &...
