This shoot went very well. Every one was great to deal with.....Texans and San Antonio were great hosts! The facilities were awsome! The only negative thing I saw or heard of was the break ins and marking of tires for later theft. Some teams lost all there gear. I would definately go back, but its N...

Thank You Gentlemen I have had the 4H Rules since they came out and one coach from another state faxed me the NRA rules stating the grip can be no wider the 2" at any point, where he got it I nor he knows. 4H has been non responsive until today, and I have to say, he was very, very strange and ...

Do any persons know the current rules on the grip sizes for smallbore pistol at Nationals? I ask because we have asked and have not had a response. The new NRA (Most recent printing) rules do not show or state this, I am told the old NRA rules did, but I cannot find these. Our coach even asked for t...

I understand that many shooters and possibly the host facility do not have 100 meters. I am surprised that this call to change the distance was made so late. We had to find private property to practice, because our facility is only 100 yards, so we were in the same boat, but not a big deal. I don't ...

I was wondering why they changed the Pistol SB Sils from 100 Meters to 100 yards? We have been practicing for more then a month before the change. One would think this should help our kids as they have been practicing tens yards longer. Response to queries has been lacking in some areas and instant ...

The training is very dependent on the instructors. Here in Wisconsin we don't learn much about the shooting, in that respect most of the training is set up for beginners. I have been certified for archery, rifle, shotgun and pistol. Pistol was the only course I took that I came out of feeling that I...

4H Passport Program

I am looking for some info on the 4H Passport program. How does a club get involved? Does each club member need to join at $20 per junior to become eligable, or just the instructor at $40 I will make some calls next week, but the information feedback I have seen so far looks good and I think it woul...

Thank you for the input guys!!!

Doing a bit of research and looking at the rules, the two guns that would be with in the guide lines are the Thompson Contender and the Browning Buck Mark Sihlouette.

Sorry I should have been clear from the start about "pistol" I don't understand why 4H has a National shoot? They push, push and try to get all of the kids jazzed up about going, then the say you can not use any of the equipment that all the governing bodies in these sports use. I do under...

The percentage thing does look better!!! I wonder when they will post the detailed rules? A coach sent me a partial saying (from past nationals) that bolt actions may not be used for the silhouetts. I don't understand that reasoning at all! They will shoot out to 100 meters and would benifit from a ...

Can you go as a team and win awards in both?.......(individual also)

I would assume so, but the questions above and the past rule changes make me wonder.

I did not think I would open a can of worms......This years location is in fact San Antonio. I had heard about the weather problems related to the hurricane, but not on the management and grounds side. Hopefully the National Shooting Sports Complex will be a better suited location. Does anybody have...

4H Nationals

Could anybody give me any specifics on 22 pistol at 4h Nationals? What type of equipment were the successful youth shooting? Did they use different set ups for for timed stuff versus the chickens.....Rams? From what I have heard, things change (Rules), possibly yearly, and many show up ill prepared?...
