IZH46M .177

I have had the IZH for 20 years, only giving it basement range love, and it is is nearly new condition. I have someone interested in buying it, and a price was mentioned of $600. Is this a reasonable price? In my day, I was able to shoot wonderful groups, but my age and infirmity make shooting it a ...

Re: old vs new

The added or improved features, such as faster lock time, ergonomics,(more adjustments) to fit you better, Improved consistency of ammo, etc can all add up to improved scores. Your own training and practice can have a greater improvement that all these IF you are really dedicated and get some profes...

Re: Newbie questions - please help

I agree with those that recommended "Make the grip fit". I did very minimal sanding to mine, finger grooves where my fingers hit, and thinned the right side where my index finger and just behind it hit, removed a little on the thumb rest shelf. Did it with files and sandpaper. A dremel too...

Re: Opinions on Frank Glenn Gunsmith please

Frank is capable of outstanding work, from a tune up to a full blown custom 1911. He's been in business for many years, and is also a high level competitor having won the Masters International Shooting Championship among many others.

IZH35M parts

In need of a slide hold open tab part. It broke off. Can just barely move the remaining piece to hold the slide back.

Or any gunsmiths that could repair or make this part?

Please let me know.

Need gunsmith

I have an IZH35M which I have been shooting since 2001. It has begun to develop some problems, it fails to reset the trigger. Gun fires just fine, but it won't fire the next shot until I push the trigger forward. I had the gun repaired in Jan by Moss Pawn&gun in Georgia, but the problem has retu...

IZH35M repair

My IZH 35M has come down with a problem. The trigger reset isn't working. It will fire normally, but the trigger needs to be pushed back forward to allow another shot. While I do work on my S&W revolvers, and 1911's, I do not have any experience with this Russian. The gun is very accurate and I ...

IZH 35M repair

My IZH 35M which I have been shooting since 2001 has come down with a problem. The trigger reset isn't working, it fires normally, but you have to push the trigger forward to enable another shot. The gun is remarkably accurate, and I just love it, but I don't feel capable of diagnosing and fixing th...

I think CCI Standard Velocity will out shoot the Federal Gold Medal.

Re: air gun postal

Glad to see you are still at it. I formerly participated in this for quite a few years, until my advancing age made my shooting arm wobble too much to hold a group worth scoring. If you enjoy competition in a relaxed situation this is it.

Re: Problems with Sellier&Bellot .22lr Standard?

I have had problems with S&B ammo of various calibers over several years. It seems inconsistent in sizing, bullet length, bullet diameter, OAL. The CCI Standard velocity ammo is one of the most consistent on the market and most accurate. I also find the Aguila Target to be very good.

Re: Best .22 conversion to buy?

I can agree with all the praise of the Neslon unit. I bought one several months ago, with the rail top, and put a Burris FastfireIII on it. It is everything they say it is. I added several magazines, (now 4) and extra barrel wrench and magazine loader pin. I am having a change of heart as I decided ...

Nelson Custom Guns conversion unit

Can anyone confirm the accuracy of this unit? I seem to hear good things about it, that it is a refinement of the Bob Marvel unit. I am interested in buying one to mount on a Series 70 Gold Cup.

IZH 35M Shroud screws

Can anyone assist me with a method of keeping the shroud screws tight? I have replaced them, I have used a mild (blue) locktite, and nothing seems to help. Of course as soon as they get a little loose the groups start to open up. I tried looking for a post that covers this, but I wasn't having any l...

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

I also owned one and shot in competition some years back. It is a very precision gun, it is a very accurate gun. I wish I know the reasons, but I experienced the same phenomenon, "when you are on your on, but when you are off you are way off". If I was doing O.K. I could shoot 10's & X...

Very timely, I just received my issue with ballot yesterday. Thank you for the information, and the advice to vote only for the 11 so as to not water down the vote.

custom grips for IZH 46M air pistol

Can anyone tell me any custom grip makers for the IZH? I have a friend whose hand just doesn't seen to fit with the original grips.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

I had one and used it for quite a few years. It was more than satisfactory in the accuracy department, maybe a little heavier than need be and a little nose heavy. I had Archer rebuild mine once and then maybe 7 or 8 years later sent it back to him and he wound up talking me out of it, as he had a f...

2.7 gr. Bullseye behind a 148 gr. HBWC (Star, or Hornady), with Fed primers and "taper crimped" no more than .003 I shot this load for years and it would shoot X ring.

Back when I shot a 52 I used the HBWC by Star. With 2.7 Gr Bullseye it shot in one hole at 25 yards. Everyone I know that shot the double-ended WC's had problems with them tumbling.
