Re: Disqualified at Canadian Grand Prix. Any help is appreci

So Philip, how'd you do at the 2018 CAGP? By the smile on your face and the medals on your chest I'd guess you (and they) were happier with your trigger? Congratulations. I really felt bad for you in 2016. A lot of people failed the check for different reasons. This year one very competitive kid's j...

Re: Disqualified at Canadian Grand Prix. Any help is appreci

Hi Philipe. I shot two positions to your left and was there watching the random trigger inspection. While I agree with others that a trigger set too fine is a DQ waiting to happen, I feel that you were not given a fair shake. During equipment check a different person examined your gun, on a differen...

Hello David. Firstly, and not pertaining to your response, I am not taking any position on whether these devices alone will result in an improved score. My feeling is that, incorporated into a traditional training regimen, they make certain 'givens' more obvious. For instance, it might show that &qu...

Rob, I sure don't mind you being blunt, but my response is equally blunt: I care. If I am going to spend over a grand on a training aid I would like to know that it is more than an expensive toy! If everyone tells me a thousand dollar series of sugar pills will improve my score, I am sure that I wil...

Have any double blind studies been done comparing the improvement in scores by incorporating an electronic trainer into a shooter's development, versus a comparable training program not involving the use of electronic trainers? Have any coaches extensively discussed the use of electronic trainers in...

Compressed air vs. CO2 for use in AP

I did "Search" the subject and though I found many discussions they didn't address my curiousity. When I got into AP, shooters were moving away from compressed air and switching to CO2, now the pendulum has swung the other way. In fact, when I had my pistol (an LP-10) checked at the CAGP t...

It would have been nice if someone had hyped it here before the event. Hi Rover. I recall at one time there would be a lot of discussion on TT in the months before the match, but that seems to have diminished. You are right though, it doesn't seem like this match gets the publicity it should, both ...

Do you have some pictures to share? They would be good to use when trying to hold a match in a hotel elsewhere so we could show that it is already being done. Thanks in advance. Kelly Hi Kelly! Years ago I took pics, but would have a hard time finding them now. There are quite a few pics being take...

Allowing accomodations for those who have medical problems becomes a slippery slope. What if you take a prescription medication for an irregular heartbeat? I believe that beta blockers give a shooter an unfair advantage and are therefore banned. If a heart medication contains a beta blocker and a sh...

Canadian Airgun Grand Prix

The largest air pistol and air rifle competition in North America was last weekend in Toronto. It is a very professionally run event held in the ballroom of a DoubleTree Hotel, quite a fancy venue. My friend William and our wives make a long weekend of the trip and always have a great time. If anyon...

My friend William and I just returned from my 4th, his 3rd, trip to the CAGP. I'll write it up here later for anyone interested. We left after the 10:15 relay so I can't give you any final scores, except that a gent from Trinidad-Tobago was blowing away the competition before the Finals. He had a tr...

I'll be shooting in the CAGP and always comply with Canadian law. I also comply with US law but don't think there is any control on my air pistol coming in from Canada. Not to stir this pot, but I think some misinformation is going around. My air pistol is NOT considered a firearm in the US. It is ...

1X10^-44 and your Website.

Hey Netguy, I've been working on this time frame (1X10^-44) for several years and might have a breakthrough. Of course a supposition had to be made here and there but that's not new to science. Made a few calculations on the mass dispersion of the universe based on recent data, converted it to binar...

The Winner's Edge by Loof Lirpa

Recently while Google searching the 'net I found an interesting article by former Norwegian Olympic AP champion Loof Lirpa. I had entered key search words "air pistol, competition, psychopath" and was shocked to get over 17000 hits. So to narrow it down I threw in "sauna" and got...

Hi Matt. The short and best answer is whatever works for YOU. Go see your optometrist. Mine lets me bring my gun into the exam room and fits me with a lens which gives me the "perfect" sight picture. That being said I still use a diopter over the lens which allows me to accomadate the grea...

Canadian Airgun Grand Prix?

I believe that the CAGP, formerly the Crosman Championships, was last weekend in Toronto. Does anyone have a link to the scores, or any personal notes on a trip to compete?
This match is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, in North America. Be a wicked shame not to hear all about it.

Two minutes before I read your posting I finished reading the most recent ads posted on "Buy, Sell, Trade". I had been thinking to myself what a great freebee this is, and how it is perfect for getting to your 'target' audience! I think that if the Board's host (Pilk) agrees to your idea I...

Mako's target printouts reminded me of what happened to me in Atlanta a few years back. The match was in late June, and this New Englander had heard how steamy Hotlanta gets in the Summer. Naturally the warmest thing I wore to the range was a t-shirt, and a light one at that. Litttle did I realize t...
